Home sick but here's the scope on what little I know....
There is suppose to be a place in St. Charles (accross the bridge, not the river for those of us natives) that does laser tag.
I remember the Funny Bone in Westport having open mike nights but can't recall when.
I'm sure we can find a karaoke place if Sparrow doesn't want to bring her system. However, she's more than welcome to do so if she wants.
Paintball is expensive from what I hear and we'll have to probably drive a ways out to find a place.
Keep em coming. Also native Missourians, can to help in tourist sugguestions? I know Kat North loves the zoo. Ryan a junkie for the Science museum. I'm a ho for the Art museum....come on help me out

you're going to be in missouri, don't expect much in the way of mountains, or even hills for that matter. they have a big arch though.blackaby wrote:I like long walks through nature stuffs. I have a feeling I'm going to spend a lot of my time asking, "Where is your highest mountain/hill/grassy knoll" and then complain my way up to the top of it. I heard that you have a river also which may be walkable along. Also, boats. I like boats.

Simple karaoke machine = Stereo system with two microphone inputs.
Real Karaoke machine = DVD/LaserDisc player with more than one microphone input, can be hooked up to big ass speakers.
Karaoke machines "cheap" use CD or Tape, that have "cover" versions of songs without the lyrics, there is a data track on the CD (called CD+G) which has the lyrics. It works, and you can find piles of the tracks on usenet.
When you rent a karaoke machine, it's usually the larger DVD/Laserdisc model and dozens of discs. We rented this machine in high school a few times. It usually has music videos with lyrics. The CD+G models are not very fancy, just overlaying lyrics across a colored screen.
Also, one could build a karaoke machine with:
2 speakers
1 stereo amp
1 laptop with tv-out (or any computer that you can install winamp onto, there's a CD+G plugin)
1 tv
1 microphone (opt 2 microphones, req mixer)
and a analog mixer for the microphones (opt)
Then you just have to nab as much as possible off usenet ... not that I'd advocate piracy or anything, but I've never seen any place that sells CD+G discs.

Well, there's always Six Flags. And there's Onondaga and Meramec Caverns...but those might be a bit too far out. There're casinos! Botanical Gardens, TIGERS and other BIG CATS(the zoo!), etc, etc, etc...mrs_rkolter wrote: Keep em coming. Also native Missourians, can to help in tourist sugguestions? Depends on where you're at in Missouri. We live in the mountains. Granted, they're not the Rockies...much older than that, worn down...but you'd be hard pressed to find any remotely flat ground here!legostargalactica wrote:you're going to be in missouri, don't expect much in the way of mountains, or even hills for that matter. they have a big arch though.blackaby wrote:I like long walks through nature stuffs. Cool... I'd actually have a chance.rock_dash wrote:I'm hesitant to ask this, but how would you guys feel about an organized Smash Bros tournament? Like with brackets and stuff? Winner gets some kick of prize, maybe?
I promise not to participate ;_;
But yeah, that sounds like a good idea, with how us gamer geeks were going at it last time.
