I'm not even going to answer this.

All joking aside, what is the reason for using a higher tension anyways?

it's probably just the convention they started using and every generation since then is using it cause the one before did. changing the whole country would be quite and ordeal.

I don't think this is about convention... In Brazil we use both voltages, although 110 is for residences and 220 for industries. I know nothing about eletric engineering, so...

well yeah, there are different plugs in the states too, you can get more powerful plugs if you need to in workshops and industrial places.

note: any l337 used in the previous post was used ony to avoid the poster's Cybersitter. Image

Well, My most infuriating word would have to be "Queue". I mean, just why do the extra u and e have to be there?

It's French, just one 'ue' and you get the hard K-like Quebec. I'm sure it makes sense in France somewhere. Oui.

There's another damn thing! I didn't know what the word 'Queue' meant untill I was, like, 15! In England they can put it in every sentence if they need too! How? I don't know. But in my brief time in england I heard that one word 3 times more than I had my intire life in America.

And now that I've said that I'll say something nice. Y'all had the right idea when it came to:
A) Beer.
B) The phrase, "Mind the gap." I love it so much.
C) road signs. Instead of yield y'all have "Give way". (I think that's it) Give Way is much better than yield because It wasn't untill I took my license test that I found out that yield doesn't mean to slow down. It means to... wait for it... Give way!
D) The theatre district in England (what ever the name of that gardens place was.) I could live there!
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

War couldn't understand how Americans get along without the word queue until I told him about "line". He still thinks it's crazy we do without, however.

They also overtake someone on the motorway instead of passing someone on the highway. CRAZY!

Oh dear...so many places to start...

:)

I'll just put this point across...one country is to blame for the bastardisation (note the s instead of the z like it's supposed to be (and that's pronounced 'zed', not 'zee' too) ) of the words 'like' and 'whatever'. :)

I guess "zee" at least makes the alphabet rhyme.
