The Coffee Thread. Or: How to start your morning.

The place where no good punk-asses and aimless hipsters come to discuss a rather lousy comic.

The Coffee Thread. Or: How to start your morning.

Post by Mo »

Mary: "Got you one with all that pussy shit you like - cream, sugar, y'know."

So... How do you start your mornings? Are you a coffee person, or do you have another beverage of choice to get you going in the mornings?

...

These are important issues. It's not like I'm bored at work or anything. :shifty:

That said, I get sick from drinking coffee, so I drink mostly cold water really. When I feel bold, I start the day with 100% orange juice though. Or tea.

Also, I'm NOT a morning person.

I'm a morning person either. If I could go to work in the afternoon I would be happier. (Hopefully that will happen.)

As for morning beverages, Carnation Breakfast mixes, and whatever I eat out of the fridge which is why I ate a tuna salad sandwich at 7am yesterday.

Coffee is what I drink when I need to stay awake in front of the computer screen.

Ok, I know I've been sarcastic before, but I am really a reverend, so the following does make sense:

I start my day with Prayer, Yoga, and a cold glass of water. I hold off on coffee until about 3 hours after I wake up. Then I have a pint with 3-5 creamers (Irish Creme) and 3 packets of sugar.

The Prayer and Yoga centers me for my day, gathers my energy, etc.

The Water rehydrates me.

The coffee deadens the ennui from working at my day job as a comptuer programmer.

Actually, I do that too. The praying I mean. Though, obviously, not a reverend.

I shower, too! Just in case.. you wondered....

I never shower. It angries up the blood.

(Ok, that was a bit sarcastic)

For coffee, I prefer mine cold and black, no sugar and strong.

But my morning ritual is basically saying bye to my fiance as he goes to work, getting dressed, putting on some music, and cleaning house. If I have something important to do, or something job related, before I leave, I have a short prayer. (I'm buddhist, though.)

I just received an offer for gainful employment, however... So, my morning ritual is about to change drastically. D:

Currently my morning ritual is shower (well, usually :P) and have some green tea or green tea with roasted brown rice. Recently I've been getting less sleep though, so I've upped it to black tea (oolong), but I've been addicted to cafine before, so I try to avoid too much coffee. Also have me a little carnation instant breakfast to get me going along with some watermelon so I have some sugar in me to burn. Take a multivitamin and some fish oil capsules for the heckuv it. But this ritual probably only going to last for the two weeks until my summer classes end. Then I have no idea what my mornings are going to be like, but I do know that they're going to start late. Ah sleep, how I've missed thee. I don't care what you say, sleep is highly underrated.

If I need to be concious before 10am, I drink some carabao. It's this crazy thai energy drink that costs less than red bull and isn't made with corn syrup- they use real sugar. It's pretty rad.

I start my day off by cooking webcomics on a spoon and injecting it intraveinously.

I've been getting by without coffee in the morning recently-- though I usually need coffee or a couple cokes or something later in the day.

I like my coffee with all that pussy shit in it. But I like my tea with absolutely nothing in it. Unless it's one of those weird Chai drinks made by a certified barista.

I have a ritual of 2 cups of coffee soon after I wake up... but never more! Late day coffee is a rarity unless I have had a big dinner party and make it for my guests.

Well, my mornings mainly consist of rolling out of bed, turning on the computer and have a few ciggarettes and investigating what happened after I went to bed. Then it's somewhere between three quaters of an hour to a whole hour till I have breakfast. Another hour later I'll have a shower? Well, at least that seems to be what I've done for most of the summer so far...

I should probably get a job :-?

I either get vanilla coffee from the vending machine at work, or at Dunkin Donuts with all that pussy shit in it. Mostly in substitution of sleep.

Oh man, Dunkin Doughnuts. I love that stuff way WAY too much. It's so sad not haivng them in Cali. I want to move to the East coast just so that I can make sure to have more Dunkin Doughnuts in my diet.

Heh, it's a hippy-esque Nortern California spirit in a Southern California world kinda thing. I'm all about hippy-ness.
