Favourite 8:1 character interactions.

Instead of an ordinary favourite character poll, my question is: Which characters do you most love seeing interact in the strip? And why?

Personally, I love seeing Mary, Charles and Lori together. The contrast of their personalities is both dynamic and funny, and there's always a certain tension when two gals and one guy interact... can't explain it any better... :P

I voted Mary and Charles because I'm a bitter, bitter husk of a human being. Except when I have a big ass burrito in my hands. Then it's all bliss.

I like the two art hipsters.

I can see shades of myself in them, and I do find hipster culture to be silly and empty fun, which is the point of it I think or was before people started taking it seriously.

I love Mary and Melanie. They are so dramaticaly different, it's just funny. What with Mary's over serious, cynical, over-analytical, and dreary outlook juxtaposed to Melanie "live in the moment" hyper-cheeriness. Humor lies with in!

Good question, Cookie! I liked Mary and Lori's time of getting to know each other. It was fun to see Mary caught by surprise with Lori, and it feels like we learned a ton about the two of them.

I like Mary and Charles. Mary, Charles, and Lori was a VERY close second. There's a great kind of dynamism in the interaction when the three of them together, I admit. Seems to lead to a lot of interesting change and conflict and otherwise crazy wierdness. I'm sure their next meeting will be especially good with their dynamic the way it is now, with so much only sort of half-resolved.
But in the end, Mary and Charles just have a nice click. Driving the story is great, but as we're all vetrans in the world of webcomics we know it can only happen once in a while, with restraints of the real world and all. Mary and Charles keep our his greatness Duff able to not go more insane and set up a great situation for fun sillyness. And I just think it's great seeing their darkness run wild. They just play off eachother damned well and they can just be so scary it can't help but pull at your heatstrings for some sick twisted reason. In case anyone hasn't yet noticed, I go on and on and on and
on
and on
and on and on.

and on

and

on...

Why do you people even like my comic? It's been, like, two years since Charles and Mary have been seen in the same physical location.

I fail.

I remember you were in my living room when you drew that page of Charles going to Laurie's apartment. Has it really been 2 years since then? That's kind of depressing. Holy shit, I just remembered I didn't even have a job yet at that time. Who keeps stealing time from us!?

I thought you'd figured out by now that your readers are a masochistic bunch.

I like seeing Mary and Lori. They seem to bring out different attributes in each other that make a change from Mary being so bottled up. I'm not saying that I don't like Mary, I just like the interaction.

A close second was Charles and Mary mind. They seem to have a connection that doesn't always need to be aired.

Probably taking this a bit deep though.

*GASP!* No, The Duff does not fail. Duff brings up joy! Yay for the Duff, for he teaches us that which is good is worth a wait.

But really now, I think that the delays in 8:1 are actually fairly standard as far as most webcomics go. And it's just so great of a webcomic that it really is worth putting up with a delay or two to make sure that the quality of art and story don't fail. *shrug*

'sides, they had a fight, they had to be all serperated-y for a while. I'm just glad that it looks like they're going to finally get that behind 'em soon. w00t for more Charles and Mary!

Basically, the comic is great. The interactions between everyone and everyone else is awesome. But truthfully, my favorite "interaction" is between Charles and himself.

He's all broody.

I admit, I cheated... I surfed through the archive to find their names when I set up the poll. XD

But yeah, they should be put on the cast page or something.

It'd be full of so much pretension and artwords that the world would implode.
