Welcome to this wonderful world of pure, unadulterated Doom™

The place where no good punk-asses and aimless hipsters come to discuss a rather lousy comic.

Good point.

I'm 25, and I recently moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. I don't really remember how I found 8:1, but I kind of want to say that it might have been a keenspot banner link. Or maybe it was from Gin and the Devil? I'm not sure.

I've never seen egg salad in a vending machine; it sounds dangerous though.

To the new people:

Don't be shy, most of us are weird and already know each other, unfortunately.

And yeah, I'm afraid of the egg salad. But the Turkey wrap was pretty good, believe it or not.

It was building up inside of him like a seething volcano.

Hi, and yay for forums

I'm Racheal, I live in SoCal, in the desert somewhere. I'm 20, and egg salad from a vending machine...that can't be a good idea.
I dont have an avatar, or a signature, I'm either very lazy, or not at all creative.

Really, where in NE? We are out west.

I'm Rhys w/ IC, and I found 8:1 while just puttering around CG about 5 mos ago. I love it.

Never eat egg salad unless you made it!.

Yeah, I've been reading 8:1 since it's come out. It's really inspiring in a depressive.. kind of way, and one of the few comics that I can relate to. At the least, it's a good reminder that there are other cynical, world-weary types out there who feel like life is passing them by too.

8:1 is a very accurate depiction of life

I'm Sam, I'm from Sub-Canada, I don't trust salads. Lettuce is fine, eggs are fine, but potato salad? no. egg salad? hell no.

Salads are tricky devils.

They are. I don't have personal experience with this, but I've heard people who have gone down the wrong street and had a salad take their wallet at knife/gun point. I'd be careful around them.

P.S. I looked around for a forum when I first started reading the comic, but didn't find one and attributed it to the esoteric Zen-ness of the comic.

Duff is the one true God, thou shall have no Gods before Duff. Hey all. Name's Vik. SoCal moving into dorms in Pomona in a coupla months to do that college thang. 21, straight, nice teeth, likes long moonlit walk on the beach and fat bowls.

Hey there Duff, I'm the random guy that saw 8:1 through my friend who does (or rather, did) Orbvs. I sent you a coupla e-mails telling you how hard you rock a long time back. I intend to send one of those everytime you have an excpetionally brilliant strip, but since I always manage to convince myself I'm busy no matter how much time I spend goofing around you don't have about 80 of those e-mails. Your comic brings meaning to an otherwise dull, meaningless, and yet somehow at the same time revoltingly painful world.

Great to meet you all. I look forward to my first interactions on this interweb thing I've heard so much about.

Egg salad from a vending machine is only as good, and no better, than a greasy breakfast burrito dropped on a hardwood floor of a house the morning after a large party that packed the joint from windows to walls and eaten after having been there for 1 full minute, even at its best.

ah. I am me and nothing more nor nothing less.

I don't remember when I started reading 8:1 or how but I enjoy it. I like the heroic trio and their mishaps, though sometimes I feel exceedingly embarrased -for- them. To the point that I have to gather the nerve to read the next updates. Silly. Yes. Moving on.

Glad the updates have started up again but I mourn the loss of the art. They were flippin' gorgeous.

I love egg salad. Vending machine egg salad I would never consume, however.
