Guys, check this out:

http://epe.lac-bac.gc.ca/100/200/300/kt ... /index.htm

I still don't really know what to place sometimes even with the choices...Wouldn't using them though be considered plagiarising? I am not so sure.

Most of the time when I want a sound effect I just use a normal, but sound-like, word.

But I have in the past used both "foom" and "f'poink".

I like Ka-expload. or Head-apload. One of my friends randomly made up 'Wangdoodle'.
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

THWAP - One of my personal favorites. Not to be confused with THWACK, THWAP is generally the sound one would hear when hitting someone with a pillow or other soft object. You can also use BAF, but I like THWAP better.

Another popular underground sound effect is:

Dook-Dook-Dook.

5 points to the first person to name the reference. Bonus points for knowing what it's a sound effect for.
(Mainly because I forgot exactly what the comic was called.)

If you hit someone on the top of the head with a pillow using a vertical swing, it would be more of a THWOP, wouldn't it?

..I guess it depends on how soft the pillow is or whatever.

What about the sounds of objects of various weights falling into a body of water?

My favorite: One issue of Excalibur had the technet staying at the lighthouse, causing all sorts of problems. One problem was a lavatorial explosion, the SFX?
