Spiderforest is suspended

Post by Cortland »

When I hopped over to Spiderforest this morning I noticed that it seems to be, um, gone. The page says, "This Account Has Been Suspended. Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible." I'm not sure if this is a glitch or problem with billing or what, but it looks like comics like Blue Skunk and War of Winds are now homeless.

Maybe we can reel them back into to the CG fold!

What else was on Spiderforest? I wonder whether the problem was some kind of copyright infringment, or non-payment for service. Either could blow over quickly or become a long-term outage...

Hopefully they come back, if they're good.

There are plenty of places that they could easily set their comics back up, so hopefully, even if SF is down for a while, the comics will be back quickly.

My comic is hosted on Spider Forest, as is Blue Skunk, Crimson Night and Juathuur, if those names ring any bells for you (SpiderSpawn, part of the same network, hosts Norm and Cory). For those who haven't heard of it, it's a small comic collective that's been around for a year or two now, and usually the hosting is quite great. We're in the process of switching right now though, which is probably why this little problem sparked up. Nope, no copyright infringement or nothing, so cease your speculations of bad things!

And for those of you interested, I still maintain my CG mirror, located here:

/shameless plug

edit: Oopsies, didn't see Cortland had already listed a few names. Oh well. But while I'm here, I'll see if there any mirrors...

Talismen: Return of the Exile

Juathuur: (some archives available)

Main page for Valiant:
http://www.keepersoftheforestcomics.com/Page_1x.html

Those are the only ones I could find.

I'm familiar with the comic names you listed but wasn't familiar with the hosting company. :)

No worries though, as long as y'all are getting back up here soon that's all good.

yeah, you don't want to leave net without comics to read for too long... he might find new ones.

One of these days I'm going to type up a list of every comic I read and post it for you, Lego. Just to force you to read 520 comic names in one sitting. :p

you do realize just by posting something... it doesn't actually force me to read it. I skimmed over skullbearer's unweildly posts, what makes you think i'll read your list?

Because I'm not skullbearer? :p I doubt I'd ever do that, anyway... good lord, that'd take some time.

Ian Jay's Try Everything Once is another Spiderspawn strip I can recommend. I think he's posted here on the forum.

Great I just spent this weekend updating my links page. Revamped the whole thing because the link to your strip was to comicgenesis. Now I need to go back and change it. Much like Ziggy will I ever win?

Haha, don't worry about it, please keep the SF address. It'll be back up in a day or two^^

I just use my CG site as an archive base, to help out with bandwidth costs and the like. My pages are kinda...bandwidth heavy. It's also quite handy in the event of...events, like this one

And Ziggy will win someday!
