FABRITZIE FILES: The Hawthorne Job - Status: COMPLETED

Image

DON FABRITZIE:
The events of last evening were, I am pleased to announce, fruitful.

(1) I was happy to discover my faith in the Collins fellow was aptly placed. His reputation, it seems, was not exaggerated. With the alarms and locks taken care of, the rest of the crew moved in. Kiki, showed her foresight and connections, ready with the combination to the main safe (That's my girl). There was a convenient degree of luck in my hiring Lacey, as well. The young lady provided advantageous distraction to Hawthorne's dog.

(2) With the job nearly concluded, Eddy made his appearance. A few... injudicious decisions momentarily encumbered the mission, but dispite what a few of my informants have told me, I have faith that the gentleman is perfectly stable.

(3) It was, perhaps, beneficial to the unity of my little group that the police chose this moment to appear. Unfortunate though it may have proven to the gentlemen of the city's police department (I am currently having flowers sent to the widows). Tom displayed characteristic haste in separating the targets, although he eventually required assistance himself. Fortunately both young miss Mary and the Kid were quick on his heels. A bit overenthusiastic, perhaps, but kids will be kids. I don't believe there was any major structural damage to the surrounding buildings.

(4) To say the situation escalated would be an understatement. I generally prefer my jobs remain low-profile, but I am a gracious and understanding Don, and I know a small degree of force is occasionally necessary for an expedient victory. Mickey, as I understand, performed the duties for which he is most known, at one point actually throwing an officer onto Eddy's eager bullets. That's the kind of teamwork which warms my old, Sicilian heart. Lola's knives made a dramatic appearance, as I understand it, as did Anthony's infamous piano-wire.

I may not be particularly fond of the methods employed for this caper, but all told I must admit I am most pleased with the results.

Result: SUCCESS.
Tally: $4,000 & Several rare gems.
Headcount: Cops - 6 Dead, 12 injured.
Family Members - No deaths or notable injuries.

Assignment #2, The Jackal Job:

All right, listen up. You did good last time, real nice. This next job, however, is going require a little something else: tact. You all may've heard of a certain professional who goes by the name: The Jackal. I hear things - I hear many things - and what I hear about this Jackal character I do not like.

He is a top-notch assasin, which I respect. He is a master of subtlety and secrecy, which I also respect. He has given four of my close, personal friends new residences in long, wooden boxes... and that I neither respect, nor tolerate.

The Job: I have neither his real name, nor a description to give you, but I have obtained, at great personal cost, an address at which to find The Jackal. You will carefully infiltrate his home and bring him down from the inside. As I mentioned, he has my respect - so I would appreciate it if you make it quick.
... I caution you: The Jackal has no formal alarms (I take it he's about as fond of the fuzz as you folks), but my informants have alerted me that there are personalized booby-traps. There may be many, but the only ones we know of for certain are located at the front and rear doors. The knobs are accompanied with 3 switches - click them on right, you'll have no problems, wrong and the knob will send 300 volts into your palm when turned.
... In addition, my sources have not yet seen the inside the place, but they have observed regular deliveries to the front door. The Jackal apparently receives 40-pound bags of something called "omni-chow," as well as regular supplies of red meat. My guess is you'll have an animal to deal with. Good luck with that.
... Possible entry and exit points are the aforementioned front and rear doors, a small vent in the rear (possibly big enough for you kids to slip through), and a medium-sized window on the second floor. You will need to enter that one from the roof and I'm afraid even that would be a squeeze for most of you.
... Beyond that, I'm afraid you're on your own. Be cautious. If this guy is as good as his reputation suggests, you will need to be on your top game.

*LIMITS* Some of you carry a lot, others just one specific item, but if you want anything in particular on a mission, you must tell me before you begin. It's easy enough to decide halfway through that you should've brought a ___, but unless you let me know in advance, you don't get to pull it out of thin air. Makes it more challenging and harder to take the cheap way out. Your character plans in advance, so must you.

FABRITZIE FILES: #2 The Jackal Job - Status: COMPLETED

DON FABRITZIE:
The events of last evening were, how should l put this? Disappointing.

(1)I had most recently stated in your last caper, that I generally prefer my jobs remain low-profile, but I know a small degree of force is occasionally necessary for an expedient victory. Your inability, to take a subtle hint eludes me. This is your final warning. Tact is what the Mafia lives by.

(2) Does the word, “family” mean nothing to you? Let me explain to you something so simple that it boggles my mind that you fail to grasp it. “Family”, is loyal and watches the back of its members. You displayed all the team work, sympathy, and family like qualities of starving piranha. If these were not such fortuitous times, I might have to let you all go for more reliable agents.

(3) The Jackal was not offed per my request. In fact, he was not even maimed. He has since left a note at my residence saying as such. Fortunately, he seems to have no hard feelings and all sympathies for me, for having to work with you. He was most interested in us compensating for the death of his favorite cat, his dishwasher and his butler who all seemed to have either died by poison gas or many bullets. This compensation will come in the form of your next job, for I promised on my good name, that you screw ups will do your best to amend your failure to me by way of the Jackal.

Result: FAILED
Tally: $300 and a double sided pocket watch.
Headcount: 3 Dead, 2 injured.
Family Members - No deaths, one shot to the hip and one battered arm.

Assignment #3, The Zoo Caper

Because I am a gracious and patient man, I am giving you this opportunity to improve my rapidly diminishing opinion of your group. Here's the score:

As I said, the Jackal is in suprisingly good humor regarding the excessive damage to his home and the deaths of his staff. In regards to his favorite pet, however, he remains... upset. In order to make amends, your next task is to replace the animal with an equally exotic and dangerous specimen. You will, in short, break into the City Zoo and liberate such a beast WITHOUT being photographed or gaining undue attention to the family.

The Job: This heist will run a little differently. Because you must achieve the Jackal's approval of the pet, you will need to scout the location beforehand, during the day. When you believe you've found an animal, you will leave a note under the ceramic monkey at the East Entrance. This note must be left by noon. By one-o'clock PM you will have your response. If it is negative, you will try again and repeat the process each hour until you get approval. When it is a positive responce, you will plan the job and return in the evening to pull it off.

During this job you will receive no backup, no funding, and no equipment. You will be provided with one, used, animal-transport truck which Mickey will bring to the evening's... festivities. Once you have the animal, get it in the truck, get it to what's left of the Jackal's place, park, and walk away.

I can not stress enough the impact that this caper will have on all of your futures in the business. Perform well, you may be on your way to becoming goodfellas. Perform poorly... well... don't perform poorly. You have already dissapointed me, and I don't get dissapointed twice, capisce?

FABRITZIE FILES: #3 The Zoo Caper - Status: COMPLETED

DON FABRITZIE:
Ladies and gentlemen, I have never - in all my years in this business, seen a task begin with such exceptional promise and end in such abysmal chaos. That job was nearly a failure. You were all lucky to get out of there with your heads... and yet...

I must admit I'm pleased with your progress as a group, and the end result of your nights work was not so fruitless, afterall.

(1) Your initial scouting trip showed excellent teamwork. I was proud to hear that you rose to my challenge and began to work as a unit. When you met back in the evening I had high hopes for the rest of the mission.

(2) Upon the commencement of the night's task, however, you were... shall we say... less impressive. There was a lack of coherent direction -and your actions, while mildly effective, were nothing more than a string of ill-conceived reactions to the situation as it presented itself. Shoddy.

(3) When my eyes and ears reported that most of the night staff were wretching sick and half of the animals were running amok, and you lot had lost track of the beast you were meant to bring in, well - that's when I decided it was time to give you one last chance. I'm not certain you could have drawn more attention to yourselves with a bullhorn and a set of stadium lights, so I sent Angel to bail you out.

As you no doubt observed she has a knack for drawing attention. With her convenient display of firepower and a few anonymous notes to the boys in blue, the authorities are calling this one terrorism by crazed activists. The missing panther will no doubt be chalked up as just one more in need of tracking down.

I respect your choice to devide into two teams when leaving the scene - quick thinking, that. I do not want to know why one of those teams arrived late and unconscious... but I'm giving this one to you. Keep in mind, I expect you to only improve on this next job. Don't think because this last one was a success that you have any reason to gloat. You won't be so lucky every time.

Result: SUCCESS
Tally: One (1) captive panther.
Headcount: Unknown number of dead, wounded, & poisoned guards.
Family Members: No deaths, minor scrapes & bruises.

Assignment #4, Lola's Guilded Cage and The Beginning of a Mob War

In keeping with the recent theme of things- teamwork to be clear- your next mission will hopefully allow you to get to know each other better. You will become, as we say, family.

Allow me to explain:

Little Miss Lola works at a fine and respectable establishment. She is their nightingale and their angel on the stage. Many of you have probably heard of it but it's doubtful that you could afford it. That is not an insult, it is fact. The Guilded Cage Caters to the upper rung.

Lately one of Don Lucio's boys has been taking in the Guilded Cage's environs. He is a vicious man who has been known to clean entire family's. His name is Mr. White.

He is taken with Ms. Lola, and that is exactly what makes her an excellent center of attention for Mr. White while you work your magic.

You will need to win his confidence, learn what Don Lucio's plans are and then effectively clean the cleaner. Leave the evidence under the main street bridge if you would be so kind.

Since the children will have difficulty entering such an institution, they will have a seperate mission involving the local newsies working Don Lucio's beat. The little snots know the daily ins and outs of Don Lucio's businesses. I'm hoping that our families younger good fellas may be able to lean on these Newsies for local information.

Time is, shall we say, of the essence?
