Funny, postcounts are gone but since the list is sorted properly, they're still counting somewhere.
I hope they'll be back. I am not concearned over my postcount as much as they can be a useful mean to tell everyone whether someone is a long time poster or just arrived.

This webcomic, seen here is hosted on the free web host Comic Genesis which pretty much proves its not popular.

So, if we were going to do this eventually, why'd we go back to normal postcounts LAST time they went haywire? Image

I am in favour of post count removal.

Once you get beyond your first hundred or so, it's pretty much pointless to keep score, and it just leads to useless competition.

But it's FUN competition. It's not like anyone takes them all that seriously. I'm about as serious as they get about it.

Agreed.

Although I like the custom titles (ie Top Banana).

I dunno, there's a lot of stress over them for something no one takes seriously.

The flash movie was cute and I got to be a star! I wish I'd been able to load it at work.

Frankly, I don't like it. But that's just because I'm a postwhore so no one's going to listen to me anyway. This is the second time I've been denied on the entrance to Page 1... sigh...

Perfect response, well other than the many "I don't care responses." I guess I have this title forever now.

I doubt it. The mechanics still work like the use to. It's just that the number of posts is hidden from our view.
(Which will make a few custom ranks, such as sergeant/lieutenant/general of the stickman army, hawt, knows something you don't, sad in the snow, possessed by evil and several others completely indecypherable).

Which of course can cause a total backfire in the system. If you don't know, you have to post more to make sure.

That was an issue considered when this was done before, I think. Chances are, if postcounts disappear, custom ranks do too.

Aww, custom ranks were what I liked about the system.

I for one don't like it.

And I'm not talking as a postwhore, although I admit, I do postwhore some (but not as much as I did say, a year ago).

Generally it does suggest who is a regular forumite, which is important for anyone who doesn't already know the titles. The date joined is irrelevant - it's wrong for many people, and for many others, who don't post frequently but have had forum accounts for a long time, it's misleading.

Also, it's kind of fun having a postcount race with Legostar. Or finally slipping into 2nd place. DM has a location talking about his position in 11th. I really don't SEE any angst about postcounts except when something happens that actually removes them or adjusts them.

I think if this isn't a joke, it's a solution looking for a problem. So I'm not cool with the removal of the postcounts. I wouldn't be if I was in 100th position, or 2nd, or 10,000th.

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.

If the titles go, I'll complain. I do like the titles.

However, I see no point to cling to the postcount.
Indeed, it may have something to do with the first forum I ever became active on not having any form of postcounter, but be that as it may, I think postcounts are pretty useless.

Long live the revolution and down with the postwhore bourgeoisie, I say!
