Pavlov- Russian physiologist and experimental psychologist. Came up with Behavoralism which he's famous for with his study of synapsis (not sure I spelled that right buuuut- drooley doggy), the cortex and conditoned reflexes. *cough* Behavoralism was created because asking a subject why he feels the way he does and expecting the complete truth unhampered by opinion or modesty is not bloody likely. Also helped developed phsychology's theoretical system of reward and punisment. Yo, don't undervalue my art degree yo. I minored in sociology and history meche!

yo, sorry yo ^_^ my biology knowledge has to bow to your proven more extensive knowledge on Pavlov. My defense is that I learned about him in class and asumed he was a biologist as well.

Behaviouralism, conditioned reflexes, yeah, those ring bells! The line between psychology and biology is slim in those areas! Humans just can't tell the truth, while doogie drool can't lie ;) smart!

edit: I looked Pavlov up on the wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Pavlov). We were both wrong! or more precise: neither of us was completly right.

Pavlov was a psychologist, a physiologist (a biologist specialised in physiology) and a physician. He researched the digestive system of dogs (even got a nobel price for that) and noticed that the dogs started drooling before he gave the food, or when he only pretended to give it. He decided to research that too. With systematic experiments without any bell (that's a popular fabel I just found out) he discovered what now is called "classic conditioning".

According to some behavioristic psychologists (people who used his research) this conditioning is the basis of all learning processes. These days the common opinion is that this is only one of the ways animals and humans can learn ^_^

So, now we have the knowledge more complete. It's a good feeling, right?

I got a 4 out of 5 on the Bio AP test. Qualifies me for easy college credits. Now, if I could only find it so I can turn it in....

We studied him too, but I think he only got a page. All I remember is the picture of the doggy. XD

And for the record, it's not Jane Doe, but something along those lines of commonness.
I'm bored.

O_O

My introduction is as follows:

OHNO I GOTTA GO - UM...

'N CIRCUMCISED THE SKIP-PER.
The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of it alive... or bastardized versions thereof.

"Heartless," James mutters, "cruel, unfeeling -- the dizziness is within my soul, Moony. She's given me a -- a disease, or something."
"Can't give you a disease if she always says no to a date," Sirius points out, pragmatically.
