I can log in to my fourm account, but I cant attach comics to it. It keeps telling me:
Finding FTP accounts...
There are no comics available to you
Please add a comic by entering your ComicGenesis FTP username and Password in the boxes below.
I know that i use the right comic adress, and the right password...and click the 'add' button, but it doesnt to it!
is there a trick? I tried the log into the fourm first thing, but it still doesnt help...

You don't have to enter an address, only the comic name. Example: if the comic is http://paoken.comicgenesis.com , simply enter "paoken" and your password.

What happens exactly when you try to add a comic? If you get an error message, what does it say?

I seem to be having problems with both.
The old one: I try to log in, and a page will appear saying "logging in".
Then the following text will pop up.
This page requires authentication, please goto the Login page
And it continues on and on, in an endless cycle of trying to log in, and being told to go back to the login page. It's really, really frustrating.

As for the newer one, it often takes me several tries to login. Once I finally do, it often logs me out when I click on something.

I would really appreciate any and all help that anyone could offer.

As I was going to say in that topic before you deleted it for some reason, get a real FTP program and you should be able to upload just fine. For some reason permissions in the new siteadmin are screwy.

Also, things which go in the comic folder should be named according to the YYYYMMDD format or they won't be processed properly by autokeen.

This only happens because the permissions of your site aren't setup for the siteadmin.

Problem with adding comics to siteadmin

Post by Drdenim »

I've been having trouble adding my comic to siteadmin...the password isn't working on the add comic page nor is it working in my ftp server(SmartFTP)...and I can't seem to access the create new password page...is there something wrong with the server or am I just missing something?

it's saying

Finding FTP accounts...
Password does not match.

See, this is why I always search the forums before freaking out.

Now, if the comic is updated by the time I get up in the morning, I'll know that everything is super.

I can't get into my account either, and I really wanna get this comic up. When I go to sign in on the old server, it says that there's an issue with authentication and I get right back to the login. Then with the new site I type in my log in stuff and all that comes up is a little button in the middle that says log in.

I am about to eat my unborn children, I'm so frusterated.

Berlin - this has been happening to me too. It takes some time from when you get the "your account is ready" email to when it is actually ready to use.

It's been 12 days so far for me. I've posted a few times here and no one has been able to help.

I've PMed the admin who is supposed to be able to sort these things out too, no response.

If any admin is reading this, can you respond with something other than "Ask [insert name here] - they can help"? I just want to get in so I can remove the comic and front page that is there. Alternatively, can you just remove my account altogether (theimperceptibles)? I don't want the comic for that front page there any more.

Thanks!
