I check and check and nothing happens and then I leave it for an hour or two and we've cleared a whole new page!
I have a question, what's SOP?
also, until I can find a way to get Jake to join the party or take some specific action I'm gonna be keeping him with an eye out for where that action should be taken, in this case he's outside loosely following the monks around (ie. trying not to be noticed) to see what they're up to and etc.

I still say the doctor did it....

I think everyone is waiting for everyone else to do something. I was waiting for the reaction of brohter Jerome. Do NPC ever become party members?

There's not a whole lot Toma can do until the monk who was said to be going back to the hall arrives, aside from going to bed. The village council is ignoring his oblique requests for more information and he doesn't feel it'd be smart to ask outright even if they did tell him they'd answer his questions.

It's actually a very common problem with Toma. When you're used to people who can pick up on a raised eyebrow across a poker table, you start to assume that most people will get any subtle hints.
What, you thought I tried to make my characters perfect?

Fine with me so far. I love games like this. I want plots that I can feel a real part of, that I can get into. Too much fighting and not much happens. Keep going the way things are.

Hack & Slash is really only all that good when you're all sitting around a table. Chat room fighting can take an hour even when it's condensed to rolling dice and stating simple actions, and in freeform players generally try to make it look fancy and vivid because it encourages the guy on the receiving end to take more figurative damage than 'a slash at the chest' would elicit. Forum games make the chat ones seem positively relaxing when everybody is waiting impatiently for the swashbuckler who won initiative to go first and it turns out her connection was dead for three days running. I definitely prefer the think and talk variety in freeform, and I think I just might have an argument that'll throw everybody who's listening in the inquisitor's party for a loop. Now I need to do something about Maynard.

I agree, but I will say this though. Having a shadow assasian isn't any good if someone aint dying sooner or later... but I still, I do like the think and talk ones better. Much better plot and story.
