Daily updates

For discussing SPQR Blues (the mostly daily webcomic), Vesuvius (the mostly disgruntled volcano), and obscure facts about ancient Rome.

Daily updates

Daily updates spoil my surfing habits. I've caught myself visiting the website about 8 times a day.

The comic is mirrored here:

10,000 Drawings Archive
Webcomics Nation
LiveJournal

I hope you'll try reading it at one of those places, and please let your friends know. I'd love to hear what you (and they) think of this chapter.

(I was going to stop updating a couple of those places, but now I'm glad I've kept them up to date.)

Alas, since I have no scanner at work, comics are more likely to be updated in the late evening. Sometimes just barely squeaking in before midnight. Hmm... maybe I should do two tonight (Wednesday's and Thursday's), and shift my update time officially to midnight (Eastern). :D

I'd like to keep the daily routine going for long enough for readers to have confidence I can stick to it. Also, I'd like to tell the story a lot more quickly  Or maybe I should do an "every weekday" plan, to allow for the occasional traipsing off to conventions and gala star-studded theatrical premieres and all that sort of thing my exciting life is just full of XD

Hurrah!

Many threads will be woven together by the end of October.

But not all of them

Speaking of traipsing off to star-studded galas: I will be out and about until late tonight, so the Thursday comic will probably be posted around midnight. Uhm... Central. Which is still Thursday in parts of the world.

In case you didn't catch this update elsewhere: I promised two comics for Friday, but this was not to be; a migraine interfered.

I had been considering extending my break through Saturday to participate in 24-Hour Comics Day at a nearby comics shop, but it turns out it's not an open event. Only a handful of professional artists can participate at their location—not the hoi polloi scribbling together for moral support.

So, today I'm drawing as many SPQR Blues installments as my little pencil can do in XXIV hours. Apparently drawing 100 panels of an online comic counts as fulfilling the 24-Hour Comics Day challenge rules. I'm not sure whether it still counts if it's an ongoing storyline, but either way, this should be interesting!

Wow, I'm done. With enough of a backlog for many many daily installments. Or, perhaps, all at once?

I've set up a poll on lj to help decide, since that's where I was tracking more-or-less-hourly progress. I dobn't think you need to be signed in on lj to vote.

Poll!

I vote for daily updates all the way through: it'll give you a break and it'd give us a whole lot of days with regular updates.

:D <- faint, hopeless try of a winning smile

I'm won over XD I've decided to post two or three a day for a while. That way, the story will move quickly to the end of the chapter, but I'll still have a little break (to plot and cackle over what happens next!).

Yay XD

My goal is to post three rows today and three tomorrow, but I'm re-drawing some of the weirder scribbles from the end of the 24-Hour challenge, so we shall see how it goes.

It was nice to know I could complete the challenge, but it would also be nice for the comics to be, y'know, readable :D
