Help the Big Cats! =^..^=

So as you may or may not know, I have a thing for cats, and greatly appreciate the animal sanctuaries that help the big ones which are hurt or that people have tried unsuccessfully to raise as pets and have ended up with nowhere to go...etc, etc, you get the idea. One such place, located in Florida, is called Big Cat Rescue. Well, I received their fall newsletter a few days ago, and it had in it an article about a 'sanctuary' in Indiana that was keeping cats in deplorable conditions, and apparently had been for years. The author of the article is at the moment fighting for animal rights, and trying to get the laws which govern these sanctuaries revised (At the moment, the laws are pretty lacking). She's gotten together a petition to aid in her cause, and I thought that the least I could do is sign it...but why not spread the word? After all, there's gotta be other animal lovers out there!

I'm disappointed that I can't sign it tho. *headdesk* I tried. really, I did.

all I can do now, tho, is pray for the best. I hope those kitties get what they deserve.

I think I posted that thread on the tailend of things...got something in my email today saying that the petition had been closed. Not sure how it turned out; maybe they'll have updates at Big Cat Rescue's site. *Crosses fingers that the kitties will be well cared for in the future!*

It does make me feel good that I got it out there. I didn't get the response I'd wanted (or to be honest, expected) but there's you, and then on the main forums at least one person did say that they'd spread the word around.
