So it's New Years...Resolutions, anyone?
A few of mine:
*Try and get my comic back to at LEAST a once a week update schedule, and keep the artwork at least consistent, but hopefully improve upon it.
*Get a second job, and start making more money.
*Get a divorce (and try to work on it so that Jim stays friends with me afterwards).
*Move into my own place, and (if I've managed the 'more money' one) get a cat for company.
Yours?

I didn't make any last year...and look how this year turned out.
So I'm hereby doing another one (stolen from someone else in another New Years thread, actually)...to make 2008 a better year than 2007. Shouldn't be hard, as 2007 was overall probably the worst year I've had to date (kinda strange, considering that some of the best stuff also happened in it).

I don't usually make official resolutions but I guess there's some stuff I could work on.
1. Talk to people more. I was shy for so many years and I still am a little.
2. Eat better. I have a poor sense of moderation.
3. Improve in school. I know I can do a little better.
4. Try to improve my relationship with my sister, even though she doesn't seem to want to.
Even if you don't make resolutions, there's always room for improvement.

No, I guess I was just finding another outlet to complain about how crappy things are at the moment...I've been needing to do a lot of venting lately.TomSFox wrote:So, you say you had a shitty year because you didn't make resolution to not have a shitty year?
Funny, though...this year's been the worst year of my life, but somewhere in there the best thing also happened. (Then it unhappened, then it happened again, then it unhappened again and now everything's back to sucking.)

my new year's resolution is to continue figuring myself out. I've been doing that for a couple of years now and am a much better person for it than I was those few years ago, and I want to keep improving.
the more I do it, the better I feel about myself, and the more I believe I do deserve things that make me happy.

well... what I believe, what I don't believe, how I fit in the world, what I want to do with my life and why I want to do it, figuring out why I still lack so much confidence, figuring out how to let go of the pain that caused me to lose confidence in the first place... things like that.

Actually, tonight hasn't been that bad. Jim stayed home and is helping me clean. And Men In Black II was on TV, so that was pleasant. Plus, I'm currently enjoying a can of seltzer water...Haha, second year in a row that I'll wake up in the New Year without a hangover!
And I don't have to work 'til noon tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be slow, and I can continue reading the book I started on today (The Hobbit...it's one of my favorites.)

it really, really, REALLY is. but one can choose to stop, or one can choose to keep going forward. painful as it may be at times, I'm choosing to go forward.Ruby Falls wrote:That pretty much sums it up! Finding myself really isn't one of my resolutions, it's more of a lifetime journey.
