I sometimes say words wrong on purpose. Like Waffle House. I say 'waif-el house' instead. Or leopard. I sometimes say 'lee-oh-pard.'

Dude, I do that, also. I stretch out syllables on purpose.

I do that, too, but it’s because I don’t know any better.

That was kinda weird reading that post right now, because at the moment I'm listening to the Sheryl Crow song "If it makes you happy." XD

"You know you got it, shout if it makes you feel good."--Janis

Today, a friend and I had a huge fight about whether Peter, Paul, and Mary or Bob Dylan sang "Blowin' in the Wind" first. Obviously, it's Dylan but she wouldn't listen. Well mwahaha, I was right!

I torment homophobes sometimes. Woooo, fear me, I might be a lesbian!

Oh no! But the homophobes...they NEVER turn out to be!

Never turn out to be what? Sorry, I'm a bit slow right now. *proceeds to hit on Kat without mercy*

Gay! ('Cause ya know, some people are only that homophobic because they have a gay side themselves, and are denying it)

Ah. As I said, I feel a bit slow.

I do like lesbians and I have a few guy friends that are gay.

Some of the dancers in the show I worked at last year were. Barry was my favorite, he was awesome (could braid my hair wonderfully!). And Joe, although gay, sounded really sexy every time he called me 'babe.'

Hmm...why is it that when an American guy calls me that it sounds sexist and repulsive, but when a British guy does it it's sexy?

Must be the accent.

Or you apply double-standards.

Probably the accent, yeah. For one thing, most American guys that I know actually say 'baby' or 'babygirl' or a variant of that...and that REALLY bugs me. Babe, while not much better in the american accent, IS better.

Or it could just be the WAY they say it. American guys, when they do say 'babe' sound all smug and it's like they're thinking, "Yeah, I'm a big macho MAN; I'm SUPERIOR to YOU, ya dumb woman. Now go get in your place and bring me a beer!" And British guys just kinda say it offhandedly, like they could be saying anything.

You know I don’t think about you like this, do you?

Come to think of it, I wonder how you would like it in a German accent.
I would feel uncomfortable calling a girl "babe," though.

I know, and I know most of them when they say that aren't thinking it either...something about it just seems that way is all.
