Re: Recent Comics
Yeah, I've been questioning fashion for years. I find quite a bit of it completely unattractive.
I have nothing against sensuous[slutty] clothing, but every time I see li'l kids in slutty clothes it makes me wanna hit someone.

Ah cool the aliens are back! =^^=
(This is just coincidence, but on my viewer, just above the strip is the banner for the Badger Tea Company project, it reads like a caption to this comic:
"And please watch the video of the whole process!

Yep they're ready for their greatest crusade.
The Quest for the Wholely Grain ... mind the boulders.
As for the Vermont trip, if you really want to see a northerly state with a low population come to North Dakota.
Less then 700,000 in the entire state, or 1/13 of NYC.

I remember singing that song as a kid.... it brings back great memories of playgrounds with metal jungle gyms and rickety wooden merry-go-rounds.

Too bad most playgrounds are plastic now. Yet another way to protect kids and keep them from learning that there are consequences for stupidity.

Not to mention, they go in circles so you can't get up any kind of decent speed.

Re: Recent Comics
Some places have gotten rid of swings because they deem them too dangerous. I guess kids still can't resist jumping off them.

Hmm, I wouldn't look too harshly on plastic fixtures in playgrounds, they do require a bit less maintenance than untreated metal, or wood. Heh, you should see the fort that the kids get to play in at my friend's place in Kentucky! This thing is massive! They even have a slider thing that you latch on to, hang and roll across a 20' gap! (granted you're only 2 feet in the air, but it looks like a fun exercise! =^^=
Our playground had an awesome huge swingset, but the &#$% adolescent punks vandalized it. The wood stuff all rotted away, so now we have nothing =-.-=
Alas, poor monkey bars, those were the last to go....

Hmmm, talking critters with critter instinct...
There are two strips that I know of that touch on that subject: 21st Century Fox. They are more human in their actions, but it is legal for a carnivore to still kill and eat a herbivore (at least until the invention of S.P.A.M. (Special Processed Animal Material) in essence artificially grown meat.
Then of course there's Kevin and Kell. They have a lot more of their predatory instincts intact. I know it is supposed to be funny, but whenever I've tried to wrap my head around the morality of the world, I get a massive migrane... =^^=

eh... To be honest... If they have all their instinct then the talking really goes out the window... would you want to hear the plants in your salad whispering to you about how the dressing feels, tastes, and is suffocating them?

I actually know Bill Holbrook relatively well. He lives pretty close to me, so I get to see him at the southeast chapter of the National Cartoonists Society monthly meeting, as well as all the local conventions.Tbolt wrote:Then of course there's Kevin and Kell. Trust me when I say, he is not trying to be malicious. I’ve wondered the same thing about K&K, but really all he’s trying to do is bend circumstances to form a funny out come. He doesn’t give the morality much thought. When asked about it he said “It’s only a comic strip. It doesn’t have to make perfect sense.”
Re: Recent Comics
Heh, that's what I figured, just that he's allowed the strip to go political on a few occasions, and that didn't help things much either =^^; But it is still on my list of strips to watch =^^=
Texting, the 2000 way for kids to pass notes in class, just when you thought cell phones could not possibly get more annoying! If I ever get a teachng certification, the first thing I'll get is a cell phone jammer for my classroom!
