2 VIDEO GAME MOVIES

Well I saw two video game-based movies this weekend: one old one and one new one. So I think I'll talk about them 'briefly' before I go to work this morning.
I saw the Final Fantasy movie. It's actually fairly decent. Not too bad at all. Even though it's science fiction, I see now why they called it Final Fantasy because the basic plot was similar to the games. And Cid was in it. Good ol' Cid.
Nice computer animation, too. It did seem to me that they spent more time animating the faces than the rest of the bodies. I kind of wish that they would've made the characters more stylized and less realistic, like in the FF games (except boring old FF8). But at least the creatures were creative in the movie.
Plus there really wasn't a character in the movie that I really liked. Cid was kinda cool, just because he was Cid. Any other characters who were remotely cool got killed. Too many good guys die in the movie. But at least it's not gory or anything.
No chocobos or moogles either. Oh well.
But it wasn't that bad of a movie. I might even get it on DVD. Maybe Square should just stop making games and just make movies, since all their new games are pretty much just movies anyway.
The other video game movie I saw came out a long time ago, but I never saw it before now. It was on the Sci-Fi Channel the day before I went to see Final Fantasy. The movie? Street Fighter: the Movie. Boy was that movie BAD! Maybe that's why I liked the Final Fantasy movie because anything after the Street Fighter movie looks good.
But you know, Yamcha and others have always told me that the Street Fighter live action movie was worse than the live action Super Mario Bros. movie. But I disagree. I couldn't watch all of the Mario movie. It was so bad I couldn't sit through it all. Even though there were a few times I was tempted to turn off the Street Fighter movie, I didn't. It was almost so bad it was funny. Definitely MST3K material. I found it especially funny how the characters in the movie KIND OF looked like the characters from the game, but their job placement was TOTALLY different. Chun-Li, Balrog, and Honda are journalists? Ken and Ryu are con artists? Boy was that silly! You'd think Capcom would care about how they botched up their characters, but looking at what they're doing to the Resident Evil movie, I guess not.
So that got me thinking. What if they made a live action Street Fighter Alpha movie? How could they mess up the characters even more? Here's what I think would happen:
If you have a weak stomach, stop reading.
M. BISON: M. Bison, inspired by Ken and Ryu's goofy NERF gun antics from the first movie, decides to put his new plan into action. OK I know the events in Alpha are supposed to happen BEFORE SF2, but when does continuity matter in Hollywood? Anyway, M. Bison plans to replace all the world's weapons with NERF guns and Super Soakers. That way M. Bison would be the most powerful person in the world with his secret weapon: a board with a nail in it (like The Simpsons). And instead of using a six-button controller mounted on a Dr. Robotnik car, M. Bison in this movie will control all his defenses with a PlayStation 2. Hey, it worked for Saddam Hussein!
CAMMY: In the movie, Cammy will be M. Bison's crazy wife who drives Bison crazy with her wacky schemes while delighting the audience. You'll laugh as Cammy tries her hand at working at a chocolate factory assembly line, or when she does a commercial for Meatavegavitamin, or when she whines because M. Bison won't let her be in his night show club.
JUNI AND JULI: Keeping in tradition with botching up the characters for the movie, in here Juni and Juli will be the star heroes. They're getting revenge on M. Bison because he

Problem was, the internet doesn't even have the script for that movie. Probably, because it was ultra bad. So I had to scrap it. I may start to work on it if someone has the script for it. And the Sci-Fi version of the Street Fighter movie made unneccasary censors, like they sort of censored almost all of the special moves and they censored Honda saying "What the hell?". Besides, they were poorly done anyway. I mean, Ryu appeared to throw the Hadoken in closes range, WTF!!!! BTW, "Double Dragon" was a joke too. "Oh, sh..... You said it."

Scary, huh?
------------------
