Wow.. sometimes I wonder how many people really should be on some prescription drug. Like nightshade. Anyways, most people have their favorite animes and I realized I never really had picked one. Mainly due to the fact it's just impossible to compair Dirty Pair TV to Tenshi Ni Narumon and things of the sort. But on a recent discussion I decided on my five favorite characters so I'm curious what every one else will say it theres. In no particular order mine are:Captain Harlock (Space Captain Harlock)
Lynn Minmei (Macross, not Robotech)
Basara (Macross 7, most underated anime ever)
Silky (Tenshi Ni Narumon)
Alita (Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm)The last one is if you're including manga as that is an awesome manga but only a mediocre anime and her character wasn't really all that developed in the anime. If you're going solely on anime scracth Alita for Naomi Armitage from Armitage III.

Yike this could become a serious debate, or just lots of fun. I tend to alter my fav character and rankings mentally every so often (ie I get to see new stuff, and find old ones again). But for right now my fav characters are: Gai Daigoji (Martian Successor Nadesico)
Nicholas D. Wolfwood (Trigun)
Lina Inverse (Slayers)
Carrot Glace (Bakuretsu Hunters)
Kintaro Oe (Golden Boy) Though to start some fighting, I REALLY hate Minmei in Robotech. In the origional Japanese she might have been better, but she pissed me off in english. She left a pain so great that only Neon Genesis Evangelion has topped in psyche scaring. ------------------

5) Yamcha (Dragon Ball) Now if you ask video game characters, or add them to the list, this would be a completely differant can of worms (ie Dan Hibiki and Felicia would be the top two).------------------

anavel gato (gundam 0083)
gally/battleangel manga
briareos (appleseed manga)
mendo/kuno lum,ranma1/2 almost the same character.

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>maybe but sometimes i would beg to differ. .mendo does indeed have a larger role and seems more intellegent but im not so sure at times. .. kuno i feel did get more ridiculous as time went by.

TE>true enough, in the end mendo would edge out kuno on the brightness meter but both have very similar character traits and places in the story. both r rich, cheesy, handsome(presumedly),daring, egotistical but i tend to like kuno more, hes a better fighter imo but they just make him more and more cheesy as the show ages while mendo maintains his same shtck.

I do like Kuno more than Mendo though, just cause Kuno is hilariously stupid.------------------

speaking of these great takahashi characters, i forgot about mr. yatsuya(sp?) from maison ikkoku(manga), i cant believe i forgot about him. . hes indeed one of my favs.

i dont know most the names from the japanese versions because i buy dubbed (i dont have a ton of cash) Gai Daigoji/Jiro Yomata(dont know if i spelled that right)- NadesicoAlita(forgot her name in the anime)- Battle angel/ gunnmD- Vampire hunter D(not much personality, but how can you hate hiM? he has a face on his hand)Panda Saotome- ranma 1/2 (he's soo annoying when he's a human)

Groovy. I posted and actually got replies for once. As to the statement on Lynn Minmei, no insult taken. Notice I did say Macross not Robotech. I to cringe at Lynn in the US version, but once Karl Masek gets his hands on something generally it makes it pretty cruddy. Heck, for all the UY mentioned he even tortured poor ol' lum.I have to admitt the answers people said suprised me quite a bit. I was expecting Takahashi animes and Slayers, El Hazard, etc. but the fact that Yoshitaka Amano (D), Shirow (Appleseed) were given props is awesome. That and people agreeing with Alita/ Gally (Gunnm/battle angle) and the mention of Char. On the note of Vampire Hunter D although still no word (to my knowledge) of the American release of Vampire Hunter D (2000) Urban vision still has the groovy promo video and more still shots (which look phenomenal) of the movie. <IMG SRC="http://www.urban-vision.com/titles/vhd/ ... vhd06.JPEG">

1)Seta Soujiro (Rurouni Kenshin)Everyone should watch Argent Soma. Best mech anime I've ever seen next to Gasaraki, and it's starting to get better. I know of a place to get 4-9 if anyone's interested.
