My home computer (that I do all my comic work on) is now on it's third day of running a fucking scandisk! This is really agravating, it shouldn't take than at most 5 hours to do this, and certainly sure as hell shouldn't take fucking three days! Sorry guys, I'm a tad upset about my computer problems, so I'm just venting a little >_<
------------------

GGS, Mutt's e-mail address is
mutt12@sega.net
As for my comp, it's running extremely slow, and it was having error popping up on it. Now depending on the types of errors it's having, running a scandisk can actually fix them (especially if set to automatically fix errors). Though it shouldn't take this long to scandisk a 10 Gig hard drive (know this for a fact since I've done it before) I'd rather just let it run it. Stopping it in the middle will just cause the comp to run slower than it already was, so I might as well let it finish (however long that will be) and then do a defrag >_<
------------------

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... but I highly doubt that will work... you need find other avenues of help...
The only sure way (and sometimes the only way) of solving the problem is a clean install. Especially if you've had your comp for more than 3 yrs.

[This message has been edited by Gander (edited 05-10-2001).]

Good News, comp is online again, plus after the 3 day scandisk I want to note that the comp is actually running faster than it has for the last 6 mothes. I do need to do a clean install, but I have too much stuff on my comp that I can't afford to lose, and no way to back it up.
------------------

Yamcha, you need to phoenix (clean install) your computer, and for Hibiki sake, partition that HD so all your data's on one portion that won't affect the reinstall!!! Remember, Windows installs don't last beyond six months. Linux... well, with most distros you upgrade w/o having to nuke it.
Also get a ZIP drive and/or a CD burner. Get both, you'll be glad you did.

------------------

I good format would probably solve all my problems. I do have a Zip Drive (no disks, though). I should probably get everything backed-up before I comp goes caput for good. ^^;
