Wow that sucks.. just did a long post and entered the wrong password. We'll see if I can redo the general gist.
First off your comic is significantly popular. You have your tight knit devoted fans who post daily but you can tell that there's also a large people who have you bookmarked and read you daily. You see your comic parodized in other online comics and your name has become one with recognition behind it.
Sure you break copyrights but most of your characters are based on people that you really know (whom all appreciate the chance to see themselves in a comic). Most cartoonist parodize other comics they like. I'm sure when you use characters and concepts from other comics they're just as honored as when you find your comic parodized in their works.
When Paul came down this weekend he was optimistic for my goals to get my certifications and find the a networking job next year in my target price range with perks and all. I asked him why he was so positive when last year he doubted that I would get any certifications or bother trying to do anything job wise at all. Put simply he said that I'd actually gotten off my ass and worked towards my goals. Last year when you said you were doing an online comic most people doubted you actually get the page up and when you did people doubted it would last more than a few weeks (yourself included for the most part). Now you've been at it for a year and you have people sad that you're ending the comic. However I figure most are probably like me and are looking foward to seeing your new comic and adding a new comic and characters to those we already love. Well, that and wondering if you're going to kill the dallas crew *cries* I don't want to die.. again!
Kudos, Robbie-kun! In the words of TumblePop "You Did It!"

I don't know why you want to quit. Shinku is pretty popular. I suppose if you quit maybe everyone here could migrate to my lonely message board? Uh didn't think so. For real tho, you can't quit!!!!
When I got tired of my comic I decided to quit messing around with the same tired shtuff. Shinku was partly my inspiration for the change to a looser reality and then I got the idea to make it a sci-fi/fantasy comic. These ideas combined allowed me to solve the old plot threads (mainly by replacing Jerome with a more cooperative alternate reality version and by overusing characters from RPG World).
Anway what I'm trying to say is maybe you should try taking your comic in a new direction. Perhaps try something serious? Or something not involving copyright infringement? Or I dunno, just replace the whole cast and use the same name.

I understand that I have some popularity and that a lot of people enjoy my comic, but this isn't all about popularity, I need to expand myself. Anyone can do a comic about their friends, but to do something completely original is much more a challenge, and this time I want to take on that challenge. I want to do something completely differant from what I usually do, and something completely orginal. That and I also get sick of people asking me "When do the rest of us get in the comic." they don't seem to understand how hard doing this comic is, and how hard it is to manage my already huge cast. Anywho, in rough, I think it's time for me to move on to bigger, better things.
------------------
