Query
Hi~! I'm new here, and this might be a silly question, but I poked around and didn't see any indication:
Is there an IRC channel for fans of this comic? ^.^; I much prefer real time chatting to forum posting myself, and love IRC as a medium in general.

Re: Query
No, but it's a good idea.

I have a livejournal
'Rule #2 : There is the game and there is reality. Between them is a BIG HONKING wall.' - Narshal, RPG.net, D&D alignment debate.

Re: Query
Yeah, it is definitely something worth trying to have, although more for geekchat than the comic itself I figure it would be used for.
one lvl barbarian, rest lvl wizard. Str 20, int 18. Spell book in one hand, greataxe in other.
I mean really? Is there a better half orc?

Re: Query
^.^; its a server for IRC. A lot of webcomics have their fan chats on it.
Re: Query
Thanks for bringing that up, DragonGirl! I've actually been thinking of having some sort of real-time hang out spot for all of us Weregeeks.
My big dilemma was trying to decide what sort of format to use. Kris over at Starslip has been hosting live audio chats on a semi-weekly basis, and they have been a ton of fun to both listen to and to participate in. On the other hand, an audio chat requires people to have some equipment (+1 headset!), and requires a fair amount of set-up on my end. However, if you guys would be interested in doing something like that, let me know and I'll look into it.
An IRC chat is also a great plan, especially if I post a schedule of when I'll be in the room to answer people's questions and just generally hang out.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts on both options. Also, if you have any other ideas for online get-togethers (Second Life, etc), toss 'em out here!

I don't listen to web radio much; on the other hand, I love IRC chats.

Re: Query
Haha- but I'm on IRC all the time ^.^; I could make a Weregeek channel like.. right now on sorcery and people could come in and chat any time and all time time
hehe and scheduled things would probably bring more awesome people in, yar. Not to mention giving us stuff to do.
in fact I'll go do that if anyone wants to join me in #Weregeek on SorceryNet
I recomend mirc, its a good client and free for downloading

Re: Query
Theres not really a 'time' to chat, the chat's open for whenever anyone wants to come by
everyone is welcome at any time - as for computer at work *chuckles* sorcery.net actually has a java client for connecting to the irc network if you want to give it a go. in any case its been just the two of us in there, and more people are very welcome
not that he isn't good company, cause he is, and its been fun

Re: Query
I've never really gotten into chatting with my online friends. It takes too much time.
I'm usually checking stuff online between calls at work so my browsing goes in quick bursts. When I get home I'm busy watching TV, playing video games, updating LJ ,and writing email before bed. The stuff I can't do online while I'm working. The weekends of course are time for gaming at the table, far from the computer.
However when I have a day off like today when I don't have any games planned or any date plans with my wife, it's a pretty good time for chatting. Time to download stuff.
