Dark Energy puts a hand behind his head and watches the commotion... seeing as the others seem to already be explaining the situation to the lawmen.

The sheriff thinks over what Karsh said for a minute "Well we do always have a few o' them in town, both livin' and passin' through." then he turns to the Brodkil "That true big fella? You lookin' to kill someone in my town?"

"I am here for vengeance!LOOK!" The brodkil picks up his gruesome memorial of heads and pushes it against the force field. "This is all that is left of my crew! Psi-stalkers ambushed us as we slept and robbed us! Only two of the cowards survived and you have these murderers in your town right now!Let me free and help me find them before they turn on your people!" The brodkil calms down a bit and then says more quietly "If they did this to 10 fully armed Brodkil think what they could do to a family of soft little humans."

**Cap'n Brodkil doesn't do too well on his Invoke Trust/Intimidate roll. Heh heh**

The Fennodi eyes the Brodkil a bit longer, goes to whisper something to the sheriff and then leaves to go see the psi-hound.

**PM to xaq for what Karsh detects with his heightened hearing. unfortunately Rex will need to make a perception check to hear it with his heightened senses*

Rex drifts a few feet closer to the Psi-Stalker, tail wagging furiously. He seems unconcerned with what the Fennodi deputy imparted to the Sheriff.

Dark Energy nods to the odd looking woman (I assume she has the facial tattoos and is bald).

"Greetings. It would appear you've arrived just in time to see the aftermath of a royal mess."

"Yeah, we heard about it on the radio and when we saw the smoke we came quick. If nobody is hurt though I guess we can relax." She turns and shouts to he companion at the back of the truck "We won't need the gurney Lenno! Just leave it in the back." Lenno leans around the corner and gives her a nod before retreating from view. The woman turns and smile at the group and hooks her thumbs in her pockets. Raising her eyebrows questioningly and with a friendly smile she asks "What happened to y'all?"

As she talks Dark Energy notices that her eyebrows seem to be drawn on, it's not that weird since women on his Earth did that often enough. Other than the lack of hair and the feather tattoos, the only odd thing about he are the enlarge canine teeth she's sporting. As she talks and smiles at the psi-hound Dark Energy senses that there's some sort of connection between her and the dogboys. Any further thought on the matter is interrupted by the fennodi deputy walking up.

**Punstarr, you know what the fennodi look like right? This will be another first for Dark Energy, you've seen his type around town before but never up close and you've never talked to one.**

**If any of you want to say something go ahead, the fennodi won't interrupt you, I just wanted to make sure that Dark Energy would be distracted from the conversation.**

Jane's eyes narrow as the PsiStalker medic gets out of the "ambulence". Everything Jane knows about Wild PsiStalkers (and tame ones, for that matter) paints them as savage hunters who revel in feeding on psychics and magical creatures, even going so far as to torture and kill them just for sport. However, while this woman's appearance marks her as a wild Stalker, there is something civilized about her demeanour. Maybe it's simply that she's not the slavering beast that most wild Stalkers are and lacks the zealous attitude of most of the tame ones.

That doesn't mean that Jane is going to drop her disguise or her Mask, though. She continues to stand nearby, playing the part of the concerned visiting scholar.

"Well," she says, in response to to the Stalker, "I can't speak for any of these other folks, but I was just heading to the bar when that Brodkil fellow started bellowing and beatin' on this Hound here. He disappeared and must have ended up over there." She jerks her head towards the back of the hangar, where the rest of the group is. "I stayed here and gave some cover to the Padre while he healed up the Hound and waited for the dust to settle."

She's laying it on thick. She has to. Now, she's within reaching distance of both a PsiStalker and a PsiHound, and her paranoia is yelling at her to run before they find her out.

Pedro grins when Jane refers to him as Padre. "Yes, I managed to get our friend fixed up quickly. That brodkil beat him within an inch of his life and may have killed him if my brave friend Dark Energy hadn't stepped in." Pedro gestures to Dark Energy. "Everyone else here came over to keep me safe while I healed him, but none of us were attacked."

The psi-stalker medic nods and continues to smile cheerfully. "That's great, glad to hear I don't have to cart anyone off. Thanks for being there Padre! I don't know how we'd manage if we didn't have you priests around town. So if that's it...." She turns to get back in the truck when she sees the fennodi deputy standing nearby. "Oh, hello Deputy Furanno, nobody's hurt over here anything else you need us for?"

Deputy Furanno stands a bit short for the average fennodi, a mere 6 feet 10 inches. apart from the alien shape to his head and face, the rest of him looks like a picture of your average cowboy stretched out a bit. He wears cowboy boots, dusty denim pants, a leather vest with a deputy badge pinned to it over his long sleeved shirt. The sleeve on his right arm is tucked beneath the strange bracer he wears on his right hand. Jane is the only one who notices the glint of an amulet from beneath his yellow bandana as he tips his hat to the psi stalker. As he answers Dark Energy realizes that his eye sockets actually swivel and give the fennodi a look like some sort of alien chameleon.

"No ma'am, everyone is fine over thar too. I just need to speak with the dogboy here if you don't mind." The voice is slightly childlike, and if one were drunk it might be hard for the average person to take seriously. He waves for the dogboy to cross the street with him so they can have a degree of privacy. The psi-hound is no longer as perky as he was when the psi-stalker first showed up, but he cooperates and steps gingerly across the street to speak with the D-Bee.

The psi-stalker leans against the front of the ambulance and watches the Fennodi and the dogboy for a few moments before looking back at the group. She looks at Fae'lin and sizes her up, as if considering something.

Rex edges a few steps closer to the Psi-Stalker, nervously adjusting his gear to make himself look a little more presentable. He pauses briefly and glares at the Brodkil distrustfully to make sure it isn't trying to escape before turning his attention back to the Psi-Stalker.

Karsh, now left more or less alone with the sherrif, keeps his weapon arm trained on the Brodkil and asks gruffly:

"So, are we through here? What do you plan to do with this Demon? My partner and I were looking for work, and we'd like to get back to it."

Jane watches the Fennodi deputy taking the Hound across the street, and wishes that she could slip in nearby to listen in on their conversation. However, under the watchful eye of the Stalker she can't risk it, since it would seem quite suspicious. Instead, she contents herself with giving the other Dog Boy an appraising look as he sidles closer to the Stalker. If he's with the other Dog Boy (and she has no reason to think they aren't together - after all, Dog Boys always run in packs) then maybe she can find out some info from him.

"Not to pry," she asks Rex conversationally after a moment, "but what brings you to WyNeKota? You don't see many Coalition types out here."

Dark Energy flushes a bit at Pedro's comment about his bravery, and is about to speak when the cowboy alien comes over and speaks. He just blinks and stares a moment before realizing he's staring and regaining his composure. He glances back to Pedro and smirks, obviously speaking in jest.

"Oh, I just did what any red blooded American with balls of steel would have done".

Rex starts guiltily when Jane speaks to him before becoming the living embodiment of the expression "hang-dog". His ears droop, his tail stops wagging and tucks between his legs, his shoulders droop and his head ducks down so his chin is almost on his chest.

He whines slightly and mumbles, "I'm not with the Coalition any more. I'm a Bad Dog." Everyone can almost hear the capital letters as Rex replies.

Jane raises an eyebrow at Rex's response. That wasn't what she was expecting... Has he gone rogue? She's never heard of one of them leaving their Packs before... But then the capital letters hit home, and she understands what he means. He didn't leave - he was kicked out or chased off. Maybe his Pack was killed... Interesting. Then he's not here for her...

"Really?" she asks, her expression politely sympathetic. "What about your friend there?" She nod, indicating the Dog Boy across the street.

Morgan overhears Karsh's comment to the Sheriff and decides that he too should seek gainful employment. His thirst for magical knowledge cannot be denied, though. His observation of the TW hangar could prove very useful to future studies.

"Karsh, was it? I intend to spend some time in study of the TW hangar while I am here, but your mention of work recalls to me the fact that I am penniless. Would you be agreeable to a mage joining you in the search for a job?"

"My frien--? Oh! I've never met him before, but that demon there was beating on him and threatening to kill the humans and Psi-Stalkers that live here. So I had to do something."

Rex snarls at the word demon, spitting pure hatred with the word. He glances back over his shoulder to check on the brodkil's position.

He looks back a Jane, "The only good demon, is a dead demon. They are threats to humanity and must be driven from our world by any means necessary." As he repeats this obviously rehearsed phrase, Rex unconsciously straightens to attention, his voice taking on the sing-song cadence of someone repeating something learned by rote. He then smiles at Jane as only a dog can; jaws slightly agape, tongue lolling out slightly, ears perked forward and tail starting to wag as though waiting eagerly for a scratch behind the ears and a "Good Boy!"

"Hey! My friend Karsh and I are mercs and are looking for some new work! You seem nice! Wanna come work with us? Uh...unless you...um...already have...uh...yeah, you probably already have...um...so...yeah. Anyway, we are looking for new work, so if you hear of anything, we'll probably be in town for a few days to look for something to do and shopping and stuff."

**time to get back to the sherriff, I want to give Fae'lin a chance to talk before moving that conversation any further**

"Well what this feller said seems to be true, but if he hurt that psi-hound over yonder too much he'll be coming back to the jail with me so we can work out an adequate punishment. If the boy's OK, then we'll just be escorting him to the edge of town." The sheriff looks ignores the brodkil's growls and other unintelligible complaints and tips his hat back to look Karsh in the eye. "I don't suppose a big strapping person like yerself would mind helping us with that would you? Least I can offer y'all is a hot dinner and a drink. Helpin out the sheriff is bound to make a good impression on any citizen looking to hire you."

The brodkil gets really annoyed at this but his attitude has turned from raging monster to dejected teenager. As if he is getting punished for his sibling's mistakes.

"The dogboy was hurt pretty bad until that priest got to him, yeah."

Karsh grimaces and scratches his chin, thinking over the sherrif's offer. He hates getting caught up in these sorts of squabbles, but it never hurts to make friends with the locals.

"Yeeeaahh, I guess so. If you can give us some leads on where ta find work, you got a deal. I'll help ya deal with this bozo in exchange for a meal fer me and my partner, and whatever tips you can give us."

Turning to Morgan, Karsh looks a bit surprised and lowers his voice:

"Well... my pal Rex there, he's got some funny ideas about magic and magical beings. You looked like you can handle yourself pretty good... maybe if you just tag along fer now, Rex won't have nothin' to say. Besides, we don't exactly HAVE a job yet."

"Oh, uh yeah sorry." the Psi-Stalker medic shakes her head a bit and stands up, her hands begin checking her pockets. "Actually, would you mind if I took your temperature?" she pulls out an electronic thermometer from her left shirt pocket. "See, I've only met a few elves in town and I was just wondering if the usual internal variance of human bursters would have the same percentage difference for a Dee-... for another race."

The psi stalker continues to smile and nods in approval when Rex begins talking. As he continues she slides the plastic tip off the thermometer and and holds it out to Fae'lin hopefully.
