Anyone up for a dungeon crawl? OOC thread
If Alina does not mind.
What you get: One creepy, ruined ancient dungeon full of horrors beyond mortal comprehension (Grumsh' old socks?). One DM who'll give the adventure all the *care, *attention and *planning it takes to say "Oh dear. You appear to have fallen down a deep, dark pit. But wait...Are your suroundings getting lighter? I do believe they are! Very much so! And there's a voice...Something about 'Step into the light'?".
* It's a dungeon crawl. Spending more than thirty seconds means you've overthought things.
D&D, of course, unless the players have some other driving preferance and I own those other rules. Level 1 characters, roll your own 4d6 stats (If you cheat, I'll just throw tougher things at you). PHB, DMG, EPH, FRCS, CW, CM, CAd, CArc, MM1,2.

I'm interested. I actually have a character all done up that's just sitting around doing nothing because the DM bailed on us early on in the game. Unfortunately he's level 5, so I'd still have to do a little bit of adjusting to scale him back to a level 1 charry. Here's his online character sheet:

Let me know if he sounds okay?

Sure. Hey, tougher characters just mean more of a challenge killing them off.
Oh, and I'll be using Invisible Castle for in-game die rolls.

Ooooh, someone setting up an on-line game. I am definately interested, but I am not sure if my schedule can take it. However, I can suggest a nice way to do it on-line. I know of a MUSH that has a table-top section to it with fairly private rooms. Please let me know if you're interested in knowing more and don't already have a venue planned out.

I'd possibly be up for this, despite never playing D&D before I have more PDFs of rule books for that and every other system known to man than is healthy. What can I say I love reading.
Of course you'd have to be able to put up with a newbie.

o.O I did say I'd scale him back to a proper Level 1 character for you. Besides, I still have to take out all the Lorn references in his character data since I presume we won't be using that world. It was especially created for the forums where I generally game, so I doubt anybody outside of Waypoint Games would have heard of it.Narf the Mouse wrote:Sure. I was curious what you meant about 4d6. Did you mean roll 4 dice and drop the lowest or did you really mean roll 4 dice and add them all up? That latter doesn't sound right. You could conceivably get first level characters with stats as high as 24 that way! O.O

YES!
EPH, FRCS,???
Which ones are those?
Also, no need to havethe books with you when you check the forums.

That's what the System Reference Documents are for! Huzzah!
I'm going to totally make a Dwarven Cleric of Kord.
Power Attack or Improved Unarmed Strike? Hmmmm.....
I plan on casting the lowest level healing spells as possible and telling party members to "suck it up" until we make camp.
(it won't be that bad, not really)

Well, yes, I was sort of taking what I had previously said as a given. I was refering to the two eighteens and a sixteen in his stats.Lunaroki wrote:o.O I did say I'd scale him back to a proper Level 1 character for you. 4d6 and drop the lowest. Not nessasary if you already have a character.

And, hmm...anything in the SRD is useable, so long as you provide a link.

Wait, I've never done this before. What information about our character do we post? Everything? (I'm going to build a character tomorrow, of course, and post it tomorrow night.)

Post or PM me all the information on the character sheet - All the stats, equipment, spells, feats, skills, etc.. As it is a dungeon crawl, background isn't that important - I mean, we aren't going to be engaging in a subtle, long-ranging story-arc with multiple levels of meaning. Include it if you want to.

Lets see, this does not solve my internal dilemna, though:
Monk or Rogue
Pros: Monks are supercharged, and underequipped
Rogue: Friggin BADA*S (Currently not willing to experiment with comicgenesis filters)
Both prestige into Invisbile Blade quite well, but Monks make it so... EASY.
However, I don't remeber the requirments (Other than the 'defeat a more powerful foe using only such-n-such, and I plan to be a kama man anyway, becuase lets face it, Kamas are ALSO bada*s) for Invisible Blade, and the Complete Warrior (That IS what CW means, right) is still in the mail.
Hrm.... decisions, decisions...
