Yeah, they're definitely LARPing Shadowrun, but I wonder if the others are at game and Mark is running late. They're not really LARPing but Mark is already "in game" and they're coming up with reasons he's not there yet.

Hmm... We'll find out Monday!

That seems a bit too logical to me... I am still not sure what is going on, but it is clear that the line between RL and gaming is meant to be blurred here. That combined with Sarah imagining that shadowy dragon, and the hunter explaining to Mark the impact that geeks can have, I am getting the feeling that the RL and gaming worlds are supposed to start becoming Indistinguishable from one another.
My name made sense when I first thought it up.

I apologize in advance for the inevitable awkwardness.

I would say that they're LARPing as a means of drawing the Hunters from the game world into the real world (so, they really are setting a trap), but somehow that seems too pat.

LARPing to hunt boogeymen seems too pat. Yes, Alina, you've suspended my disbelief that much.

Here's a question: How do we know the comic 'real world' is based on earth as we know it?

There could indeed be some sort of "multiple worlds" thing going on here. Other than the Hunter the real world seemed believable thus far, and even the things like shadows with glowing eyes and teeth, the orb mark got in the vampire game, and the dragon Sarah was imagining could have just been character imagination seen by the reader.
But this one seems odd. Maybe the Hunter's not a complete nutjob and the imagination of geeks really does break down reality? Unless the group just decided to larp Shadow Run, that is. Could be reading waaaaay too deep into this XD

Yep, the hunter could be a nutjob, all the strange stuff could simply be imagination. All the clues could be red herrings...

...I wonder what herring tastes like?

...I was looking through the last few comics, making sure I was caught up...Had a thought. Did the head-elf guy actually say 'sigh'? Because it would fit his character.

I asked Sanity Loss for an official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time, but all he would give me in this place is a bag of marshmallows. They're just like the walls.

This reminds me of the netrunner from our last game. It took three sessions for us to meet him in person, he just sat in his little hypoallergenic lair and communicated through an LCD screen we carried around. We'd just get him close to a console and he'd use the screen's wireless to hack into it.

I had to go back and read everything Dustin said in an english accent after that comic.
I did once in cockney and once in "proper english", both were pretty funny but I kept mentally adding "quite" or "wot" at certain points.

Dustin doesn't ALWAYS have a British accent... just when he's trying to sound pompous. ;-)

Which British accent? We kind of have several. And most of them are far from pompous. Angry Glaswegian, anyone?
Warren Ellis: I figure that the more of you there are around me, the more chance there is of the inevitable hail of bullets hitting you instead of me.

Dr. Kelso: In order to save us some time, I shall be calling all the males "Daves" and all the females "Debbies".
Debbie: Debbie is actually my name!
Dr. Kelso: Then in fairness to the others, you will be "Slagathor".

I'd love to know whether Abbie's expression in the Wednesday comic was modeled after Happycat.
