This is why I waited so long before creating the OOC thread. In order for it to work we need to have one post from each player (at least) in the first page. Not a whole new conversation.
Since I won't be replying in the OOC thread, talk about your character here OnePostWonder

So with an IQ of 16 and an ME of 12, I would get a bonus of 0, right?Tom the Fanboy wrote:Perception checks were made official in the Ultimate Edition but they had been referenced in sourcebooks for years. The method for calculating your base Perception bonus is fun.
Take your IQ.
Go to the ME chart for your save vs Psionics bonus.
The bonus your IQ score would gain is your Perception bonus.
Perception Check, how people noticed things before Spot.
I have +1 from Exceptional Sense of Balance and Direction and a +2 because I'm a German Shepherd Breed Dog Boy. Does that make my Perception a 19?
I feel dumb because I can't figure this out on my own.

Perception gets a bonus rather than a base score of its own.
You only have a +1 to Perception.
Don't worry, I'll sort things out.
I suggest we all start puting the characters onto the sheets in the OOC thread. Just go to my first post and hit quote. Then you can edit out all my writing around the character sheet and start typing your stuff in the blanks.

Wait...what about the +2 for breed? Now I'm totally confused.Tom the Fanboy wrote:Perception gets a bonus rather than a base score of its own.

I tried to edit out all the stuff around the sheet and type in my stuff...it came out a mess. I'll post it so you can see what I mean.
*EDIT* I'll be damned...it worked...mostly.

I forgot about the breed bonus to perception. I thought that was the plus 1.
I'll uh, take time on my lunch to go over the numbers and then clarify.
Punstar. Go ahead and use your stats.

Revised Heroes Unlimited has the PE bonus as different, but it's the MDC I needed. Thanks man. And Tom, no worries. I figured rl had gotten you in it's clutches.

Aww come on One post Wonder, this is my first time playing any PnP RPGs, try to get your hands on some of the books (if you don't have one), ask tons of questions, and have some fun ^_^One post wonder wrote:Er, well, I tried, but Rifts is just not for newbies. It does not seem to be something I can teach myself. I will have to sit this out.

For the request which I am going to ask of you, please reply with either "Okay" or "Yes".
