"Meeting? This could prove to be interesting."
Kaldan takes a seat somewhere in the middle of the group he came in with. (Eric, Edno, and Grath. I.E. Two on one side one on the other.)

(He'll be unavailable for a day or three. maybe four. He let me know in my D&D campaign at the end of last session. So It's probably still going, if you give it a while.)

Eric remains seated, waiting for the explanation. In the meanwhile he occupies himself making a marble appear and disappear from his hands.

((I guess I am sitting to the edge of the party.))

Everybody seats on whatever, non-special order they sat in.
Soon enough, you catch a tangible change in the atmosphere, as if it suddenly became - lighter, lower pressure, some of the more scientifically inclined may call it, but the effect is tangible and no less than mildly disturbing.

A Rather Large, powerfully built bald man with beedy black eyes rises out of the ground, in the center of the table, wearing dull field plate, and leaning heavily on a plain-looking warhammer
(Spot checks! +4 Bonus for having 5 ranks in craft (weaponsmithing), -2 for not having any, and a further -2 for not being proficent in the warhammer)

Those of you native to the city note that the man bears a striking resmebalance to Lord Shirm'Dula, being equal in height, weight, eye color (Black, in case you care), and hair style (that being, none). He favors his right leg for the obvious reason of something looking rather sharp and arrow-like sticking in it.
The joints of his armor are unduly stiff as he painfully eases his way out of the center table, and smiles at Creaulean.
"Good friend, at last, we're making progress" he notes with a hint of joy in his voice. The man slumps heavily into a nearby chair (causing audible strain on the wood), and proceeds to administer care to his wounded leg.
"Always a pleasure to see my old Allies in the North, monk, are these five - " he sweeps out to the four party members and Jan " - The only ones that came?"
"Unfortunatly, that is the case."

"Then, its time to give them The Speech"

Kaldan pays close attention to the man, and to whoever is giving the speech.

LordofArcana and the bellmaker pass. Since I'm tired of writing PMs, I'll trust the rest of you to not use the information I supply here-

The weapon is truly Masterwork, with a capital MASTER. The weapon seems to be made specifcally for him. There are a number of runes spiralling across the surface in a number of languages, none of them you are currently capable of reading (Due to me being too lazy to look up languages, this may change later)

Bellmaker/Kaldan is able to guess at his fighting style, which consits of short, accurate strokes, other than sweeping, powerful ones.

He winces as he moves to stand, laying one hand upon his wounded leg, and strightens up. He still noticably favors the wounded leg, although those of you who have enocuntered magical healing before are capable of noting that he IS, in fact, fully healed.

"As you may or may not have guessed, I am the WarChief Winston Smith" he proclaims smoothly, and easily.
"The situation is simple to explain, Lord Shrim'Dula, among other things is not the rightful ruler. Those of you who live here are unaware of the injustices he inflicts under the guise of 'Order' and 'Rulership'. He subjugates his people, with the ultimate goal of planet-wdie genocide. His own magical powers are, in themselves, minimal, and his jealousy for the more endowed run rampant. By requiring liscened wizards and sorcerors, he can slowly make sure that all spellcasters in the City-State are loyal to him, under threat of execution. With this, he plans to sweep out of Shrim'Dula, and gain much more power than he currently has.

"His army of pure-blooded humans and loyal spellcaster are to sweep outside of the City and conquer all the realms before slowly encroaching on all planes of existance. His Ultimate goal is not less than Godhood. It is him being the only God. Ultimate Rulership over All Creation. We're enlisting you to stop him. This is not a conscription, and you may decline. If you do, I ask that you forget all that you have seen and heard here."

He paces about the cramped room as he speaks, and wraps up his speech while once again, standing inside the circle. During his speech, he meets each and every one of you sqaure in the eye. A steely, cold glare, full of conviction.

<Negetive, Its just funny to me, on the other hand; The spot check was for the runes. The rest of you can't recognise it from the wordgrain.>

Kaldan leans forward a bit, slamming his fist into the table. "Do you suppose that a one of us would be unwilling to aid you, or to stop him? That monster must DIE! Be it at my hands, or yours. I will help you. We will see that monster dead."

"Certainly I would like mages to be able to use their powers freely, but what real chance do we have against him? We are in a massive city, and the most well-trained spellcasters support the lord, and his warriors certainly would be well equipped. With the magic that he has at his disposal, I don't see why he doesn't already know about us and he could moving to destroy us even as we speak! For that matter is there any way we could know if you aren't one of his agents seeking to destroy radicals?"

Eric seems profoundly skeptical of the idea of starting a rebellion.

Grath nods approvingly at Eric's pronouncment.

"I concur. This is a fool's errand. You'll need an army to take down Shrim'Dula. We alone cannot hope to stand against him unaided. I'm suprised you've lived this long."

Kaldan turns to Grath and Eric. "Bah! I'd expect a fighter to think like that, but a mage, too? Think about it. Shrim'Dula's defenses are GEARED towards the large-scale invasion! What they wouldn't expect would be a small stealth team to infiltrate the castle and slit his throat! It would be simple, if the group had the right people."

"Oh, really? Do you really think that he could not simply have some priest cast the bones every day to see if he is in danger? For all that I pretend to be able to do such things, I know that there are those who can. Fortune telling may be difficult, but surely he has people loyal to him who can. Once he knows that he is in danger, there are likely all kinds of spells he can use to determine the nature of the threat and how to react to it. You idiot, do you think that rulers are foolish enough to let anyone kill them? That's especially true of those who seek such power, they are among the most paranoid."

Eric is deadly calm.

"Look, if I can get OUT of his dungeons, I can at least get IN to his castle. And besides, if the fortune is for that day, why not break in, wait until early morning the next, before the fortune, and strike? Spells are often much to literal, and a wise man can use his foe's paranoia against him, if he can find the way."

the... the.. shrimp (giggles at his little joke) is a fool, (not giggly anymore) fools make mistakes... especially when they think they have the power to control the world.

besides,
(in a cunning tone, turns to Mr. smith) i am sure your haven't brought us all this far just to rally our support?
