Majora's Mask? Really? It's a good storyline and all, but you miss out on some major elements of the typical game that way.

I'd prefer Twilight Princess or Ocarina myself. Link to the past wouldn't be too bad though.

I only ever played OoT and a few of the Gameboy games--Link's Awakening and those two Oracle games. Honestly though, I have no idea how any Zelda game would translate into a film; it would probably be better for them to go with an original idea. That way if they screw it up they're just screwing up Zelda in general instead of desecrating the memories of a good game.

...That being said, they could always film-ify Zelda CD-i.

See I actualy LIKE Uwe Boll films the same with Ed Wood films.

What they do give you is the oportunity to get together with your mates and not have to worry about artistic integrity, script, plot or even cinematography.

Instead you can just laugh till you gurgle like drains.

Two or three of their films over an evening, a couple of beers and a shed load of junk food. Thats far from wasted time in my view.

Yes but Ed Wood didn't ruin books by turning them into movies did he? Did he make horrible versions of radio dramas?

Boll takes games that have a good enough following to get seats in the theaters and then ruins it. This means that other film makers won't have the chance to make a GOOD movie out of a game like House of the Dead. Video game movies have a hard enough time making it without a hack like him ruining licenses.

He's like the characters in Mel Brook's Producers, making bad movies on purpose and pocketing the overhead. Only he somehow manages to do it over and over again.

OK fair point.

As far as I know, Wood only made risible films from terrible script's (often penned by the man himself)

Now I put it to you as a fan of "B" movies.
That I am yet to see a reworking of a video game that comes within a standard ten foot pole reach of an "A" rating.

Boll isn't the only propagator of dross.

Hollywood however, is, if they wanted "better" films then they would pay for "better" scripts, actors, directors/producers ET AL.

I further promise not to string post again.

You know, most people who know me know that I'm a terrible person to ask if a movie was good. I have a slightly screwed up scale of movie goodness.

Terribly good |Meh| Wonderful
10 - - - - - - - 5 - - - - - - 10

I don't want to turn this into Boll bashing. Truthfully, I enjoyed the absolute horrible wonder of Hose of the Dead (see my previous post in this thread), and I'm glad that he's making it so people aren't afraid to consider making movies from games. I feel, however, that Boll should be buried alive for the monstrosity known as Bloodrayne. It caused my scale to change slightly, to this:

Terribly good | Meh | Wonderful
10 - - - - - - - 5 - - - - - - 10
|
| (This is where the 0 line would be)
|
Bloodrayne

First I have pretty much no idea what any of you are talking about. (I didn't even know there WAS a House of the Dead movie. I just know the shoot-'em-up arcade game.) And I'm guessing from context that this Uwe Boll fellow made House of the Dead? Also, I never played Castlevania. I'm going to download for my Wii though, if I get some money.
Anyway.

I enjoyed Super Mario Bros., but I was sad that Daisy was in it and not Peach. I mean, I know Daisy came before Peach and I know a lot of people hate Peach, but I rather like her. Kind of sad she wasn't there. Other than that I liked it.

The idea of a Zelda movie makes me laugh. I mean, I don't think ANYONE could be Link. Maybe look like Link, but Link could never be voiced well. I think everyone is so used to Link being voice-less that it'll be weird.

Unless they go with the Link from the 80s cartoon show. Of course there will be a lot of hating if they did that. But certianly not from me.
I LOVE that show.

I liked it when I was a kid. But generally, going back and seeing the same cartoons I liked as a kid is a dissapointment.

Unless it's looney tunes or such.

The first time I ever saw them was about a year ago. My friend got some old 80s cartoons so we could laugh at the sillyness.
I actually grew up with Pokemon and Digimon. (I also remember watching Sailor Moon in the wee hours, but I think those must've been re-runs of old ones. I don't really remember.)

Pokemon and digimon are sick. Children forcing sentient creatures to compete in death-matches and imprison them in tiny containers.
