A "girl"? Nay! A WOMAN! (or, actually, a Lady, but some of them get offended if you call 'em that...) Anywho... I think you do have female readers, they just don't hang out in your forum that much. (check the "Old" threads!!!) I, after all, was drawn here by a link on (godIcan'tremembershe'snotthereanymore...) well, anyway, the Comic was drawn, and written, by a female artist, and the link wasn't in a drop-down or newsbox...
So you do have readers of the feminine persuasion, they just aren't very talky in here.
(shrugs) that's the way it is, sometimes. At LEAST, you HAVE readers that post in your forums, mine's as quiet as a graveyard, and I've been "regular" for almost a year now.
Ye must be doing something right, to get enough traffic that people stop and peek in... Chin UP! You'll make it through this!
------------------

Or, if they do, they are hit on by (some of) the males and they run away screaming. Some (Aeire, Demon Cat being the first that come to mind) enjoy that kind of attention, some don't. Some choose to ignore it. That was at least the case when I frequented the forums more... um... frequently.
I still *read* the webcomics, I just don't post to the forums as much as I used to (and let's face it, most of my posts were to the Nonsense Contest, One Word Story, and Neverending Sentence threads anyway, so did you guys really miss me all that much?) -- I imagine a lot of fans, male and female, never thought it useful to bother with the forums.
Another thing is, a lot of people, I think, feel that forums are for people who have some connection with the artist. I used to talk to Calli a lot at the time in my life when I was in #crfh every night (gee, I speak of that like it was years ago, when it STARTed exactly one year ago), so I hopped over here to check it out. Check the message boards of any of the KeenSp* comics and you'll see it -- Maritza has a cult following, as does Josh, heck, we call them by their first names, even. I was just encouraged by the fact that some of the posts were actually responded to by the artist -- which drew me in even though I didn't quite feel a personal connection. And so most people might read the comic and not even bother.
Just my $3.17 (which is, of course, 2 cents adjusted for inflation with the result in 1982 dollars).
[This message has been edited by baka_sama317 (edited 12-13-2001).]

Merry Christmas, all. I can't believe it's already Christmas. (Then again, growing up in snowy winter places and then getting shuffled to...THIS...tends to do that.)
And Cannon? Your sig link's broken (fix the BR tag and you should be good to go).
Oh, and lil' bro's working on a surprise. Well, he might have already mentioned it, I can't remember anymore. (That's why I repeated the whole coffee mess again *sigh*...)

If things are as they are supposed to be, then, the Artist, and her man, are going to be out of contact even longer (not that we mind, or anything, it's a good thing...)
------------------

Heh. Actually, I've been home for a week now, sorry for the delay.
And yes, although it's hardly a surprise to most of you I'm sure, I'm now engaged to 'Samalander'. Right now we're looking at a long engagement though, probably several years.
Ack, gotta go pick up the little brother. I'll try and say more when I've got more time and less scatterbrainitivity.

I'm obviously new to this forum. Not new to the comic, but I couldn't help but notice the comments about the lack of female readers.
*meekly raises a hand* we're here!
I just wanted to say, from someone who usually doesn't post in forums, that we're out here, we read pocket, and we wait with baited breath for the next. But we understand about time too.
and now I sound confused. I really shouldn't post things at 1am ^_^. We look forward to and wait patiently for the nexr comic. ^_^

Well, I have the time now (for now, anyway; still gotta fill out and return job application(s) and see what happens with that), but I also still have the scatterbrainitivity. I'm not quite sure what to do with POCKET, and Calli and the rest are pretty silent on the issue (No, I'm not mad, my characters just tend to develop lives of their own and if I try to dictate what -I- want them to do, and it's not in their character, they don't go with it).
I haven't given up, not yet, and I don't plan to. Right now, though, my creativity seems to be funneling into other areas (such as the O.H.R.RPG.C.E.) -- of course, all except the most vital one, writing, the one I'm trying to finish something so I can try and start a CAREER. *facefault*
I haven't even doodled in forever. I really should, that might help...I can remember when I used to doodle every night, and in class ^^;
EDIT: D'aah, trust me to be sufficiently scatterbrained to forget to welcome the new boardie! Gah. Well, welcome, I think you'll find that even when this board is active, it's much, much more civil than most you'll find!
Of course, I need to get things going again by getting the comic going again...come on brain cells, work!!!
[This message has been edited by Calliope (edited 02-01-2002).]
