Hey, don't mock the filters. I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with them (POCKET is, in some ways, a learning exercise as well. I'm still not that good with Photoshop), but I'm also trying not to overdo it. (Which is why there aren't lens flares, cloud effects, cut-outs, et alii ad nauseam all over the place.) And I only keep a filter effect if I'm reasonably satisfied with the result, such as the grass and water in Wednesday's comic.
As for coloring, for individual areas (like the characters) I use the paintbrush. The bucket doesn't work very well, in my experience, except for large areas with clear borders. Which is fairly time-consuming.
And yeah, I'm kinda going minimalist on the art for now. I've been rather tired lately, as my sleep schedule's been disrupted -again-. *cue grumblings about stupid 3:05 and 6 PM double-whammy classes on a person who normally goes to bed around 12-1 -PM-...*
Hmm. I probably should get around to writing that tutorial, just so you guys can see how crazy I really am.
------------------
