Ahem. It has come to my attention that I need to define some basic guidelines for this forum *coughcoughAVERAGEMANcoughcough* so the following are my rules:
*Note: All thread "denotations" are to be placed in the subject line, for those who aren't too familiar with the forum.
1. NONSENSE THREADS MUST BE DENOTED.
If it is a particularly ridiculous thread then use the denotation YHBW -- "You Have Been Warned." Contains nonsense at potentially offensive (to the more serious-minded) levels.
Now my policy on nonsense is as follows: when contained within proper boundaries, nonsense is not a problem and even healthy. However, when it seeps into serious posts, we've got a problem.
2. OFFENSIVE POSTS WILL BE REMOVED.
And knowing that "offensive" is a very subjective term, I should state my policy. Use common sense, people. Keep it between G and low PG-13. Profane/obscene/derogatory language (out of context, although I can't really see any at present) will not be tolerated.
3. SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION POSTS SHOULD GO INTO A THREAD MARKED AS SUCH (IE "SELF-PROMO).
Signatures are exempt. I mean, that would be scary, trying to control other people's sigs. I'm not a control freak. At least, I try not to be.
4. PLEASE DENOTE OFF-TOPIC THREADS WITH EITHER "OFF-TOPIC" OR "OT" IN THE SUBJECT.
It's a fair warning to those who don't want to slog through hundreds of off-topic posts.
And, lastly...
5. NO SUB VS. DUB DEBATES. I mean, DVD makes this a moot point, for crying out loud. And more often than not it just makes for an ugly screaming match.
