Consider yourself successful.
And I think you're intelligent enough to know where to draw the line. I HOPE you are intelligent enough.
Yeah, I'm also wondering where you got the idea that my attack was a DBZ ripoff. How would I know? (arches an eyebrow) I don't watch that show...
------------------

Heh heh, you fool.
First of all, it was YOUR idea, since you said my attack lacked originality and finesse. And I wasn't trying to beat you within an inch of your life, I was merely toying with you.
Do you really think that someone who could pull off Michael's Shear would crumble under such a light barrage? I sure don't!
No, there are other ways to win.
(Calli stumbles, but shrugs it off. She reaches for the time-travel gizmo at her waist, and promptly vanishes. She then reappears behind Averageman.)
I think you need to cool off. Back to the lake with you!
(Calli seizes AM by the collar yet again. But she is continually losing strength, and it takes all her willpower just to activate the teleporter and make it to the lake. She drops AM as she desperately clings to the threshold of consciousness--)
The balance...shouldn't be...disrupted...already...............
(Calli falls into the lake. Seconds later AM is treading water, but Calli is nowhere to be seen as she continues to sink...)
------------------

*gakk*
(Calli spits up lake water by the pint (okay, a little hyperbole there) as her mind tries to kick back into working order. She faintly hears dialogue from her future counterpart in the background--)
I'm impressed. I bet you didn't even know what would have happened if you had left her to drown in the lake.
(Calli, relatively unfazed, somewhat shakily gets to her feet. Averageman is about four yards away, talking with the Author/Future Calli.)
All right...let's settle this like the mature adults we're supposed to be. I challenge you--
TO A--
Um...
Um, I need a competition idea!
(Cue everyone's facefault)
------------------

AM's eyebrows entrench them selves in his hairline as he sputters and wipes the sand from his face.
"You nearly drowned and you want to continue this farce?" Exasperation and annoyance quite evident in his voice."FINE" AM then set about figuring a contest that would negate Calliopes mobility advantage, asuming that she could still teleport, since she was able to stand.
PS(just what is Michael's Shear anyway? You never did tell me the last time I asked.)

(shrug) You wouldn't. I have watched some DBZ but I would not call myself a fan, and I am hopelessly out of touch with the current season(My &%^$**$^%& class schedual) Your attack sequence looked like something out of most DBZ combats(two individuals go at it in handtohand, one makes mistake, breaks rythm, other one takes advantage and plays tennis with him/her before slamming/driving them into the ground)
Your Friend, Averageman

Oh yes, I almost forgot...remember those two little critters you tried to eat earlier?
(Calli steps aside, and two Rengalian Nature Authority officials step forward and seize Averageman by the arms.)
I should have warned you that those were Western Patchuka Night-Neon Water Squirrels. A protected species. Endangering a protected species is punishable by a 50 nineteen fine and/or thirty days in the slammer.
(Calli tosses something over to one of the officers. Upon closer inspection it is revealed to be a videotape.)
Ahem. Well, my work here is done. All right boys, I'll let you take care of him. I've got a story to write.
See you later, pal.
(Calli teleports back to the lab-planet as the two guards lug AM back to the Rengalian palace for indictment and sentencing.)
------------------

And no, I didn't just create this username out of the blue, I've been Tangent/Xellos over on Keenspot for a month now, and for over a year on the Relic and Sierra boards.
Just with the recent crossover with CRFH, Calli addicted me to another web comic (shame on her! ) which brings my total to 7. Hey, I'm resisting with everything I've got. *chuckle* But Pocket is well worth reading. And the artwork is rather pretty.
And Calli? I hope you enjoyed Kill-A-Turkey-Day. Take your time restarting the comic. Quality is prefered to quantity, after all. And so far it has been quality.
------------------

Well, is it my fault you tried poking me? Now you went and caught your finger in that poke-catching mousetrap...
------------------
