First of all, it was YOUR idea, since you said my attack lacked originality and finesse. And I wasn't trying to beat you within an inch of your life, I was merely toying with you.
Do you really think that someone who could pull off Michael's Shear would crumble under such a light barrage? I sure don't!
No, there are other ways to win.(Calli stumbles, but shrugs it off. She reaches for the time-travel gizmo at her waist, and promptly vanishes. She then reappears behind Averageman.)I think you need to cool off. Back to the lake with you!(Calli seizes AM by the collar yet again. But she is continually losing strength, and it takes all her willpower just to activate the teleporter and make it to the lake. She drops AM as she desperately clings to the threshold of consciousness--)The balance...shouldn't be...disrupted...already...............(Calli falls into the lake. Seconds later AM is treading water, but Calli is nowhere to be seen as she continues to sink...)------------------

(Calli spits up lake water by the pint (okay, a little hyperbole there) as her mind tries to kick back into working order. She faintly hears dialogue from her future counterpart in the background--)I'm impressed. I bet you didn't even know what would have happened if you had left her to drown in the lake.(Calli, relatively unfazed, somewhat shakily gets to her feet. Averageman is about four yards away, talking with the Author/Future Calli.)All right...let's settle this like the mature adults we're supposed to be. Exasperation and annoyance quite evident in his voice."FINE" AM then set about figuring a contest that would negate Calliopes mobility advantage, asuming that she could still teleport, since she was able to stand.PS(just what is Michael's Shear anyway?
