Alright! So the game works on some people's computers and not one others. I found that too - i did a test download on both my parents computers, and it only worked on one. unfortunately, i'm far from a computer genius, and couldn't work out the problem.

...so, any computer geniuses here who can? ^^;

if you got an error message, post here and tell us what it was. if you know how to fix this or found a way to fix it yourself, please post too.

for starters - andyouthinkimcrazy: you said you went to great lengths to play the game, but you did get it to work. ...what did you do? O_O


big apology to those that can't play it yet... but i've really done as much as i can T_T;. i was up 'til four in the morning yesterday trying to work on the bugs... but i have six huge tests today (incredibly unlucky timing, i know) so more galacticus problem solving will have to wait...

Ya Know, this time when I tried to start Galacticus, it got farther... It got to some small screen where it wants me to specify a folder or something. It no longer instantly goes to 'This file could not be opened'.

it said that? O.o; how odd... i never got that message on any of the computers...

well, i re-uploaded it, after trying a few things. ^^; so everyone that couldn't work it before, please try again...?

if they tell you an exact file name you're missing, just google it and you should find an easy download somewhere

what is the file name? (i'll see if i can find it and post a link)

I dont think RGSS100J.dll works.

the one you downloaded didn't work? ...did you put it in the right directory? it goes in either windows > system or windows > system(#)... which is kinda confusing...

...is that what you meant? O_o;

well that might be why... do you have a system32 or some differently numbered one? do you have winnt? what type's your computer?

(btw, sorry if i leave unexpectedly - that means i've finally left for school ^^; i'll come back as soon as i can if that happens.)

Ah, finally everything is where it should be. Now, Galacticus (the game), when I click it, says something about C:\Documents and Settings\Agaren\My Documents\RPGXP

Actually, I have both System and System32

are there two options to click? if so, click the default one. ...'cause you haveta install it first, y'know ^^;.

Theres no Default Option. Theres just 'C:\Documents and Settings\Agaren\Mina dokument\RPGXP' shown in a small bar. When you click it, a yellow sign with japanese letters appear. If you click it, Galacticus closes down.

that's right. then a folder should be created, and you go into it to find an orange icon saying "game."

really? that's odd O.o; - also never happened before. you sure? try using the find on your computer - it would be labeled "galacticus"

It only finds the Galacticus thing that says something about C:\Documents and Settings\Agaren\Mina dokument\RPGXP

then it's in that place. the C:\Documents and Settings\Agaren\Mina dokument\RPGXP . open a windows explorer go to documents and settings > agaren > ima dokument > rpgxp

Sorry, there isnt any folder labeled RPGXP nor Galacticus

okay... in the "find" thing, where it listed C:\Documents and Settings\Agaren\Mina dokument\RPGXP , click on that. windows explorer would be the manual way to get there.

do you know what windows you have, btw? 2000, 95, 98, etc?
