One of the purposes of this storyline was to try to give Hannah some personality and characterization. Did I succeed or did I fail miserably?

She's a sidekick in THIS sense, though---she's there to give Carter a kick in the sides when he needs it.---Al

I think you did rather well. Between her reaction to Carter's philosophying and her reaction to him giving orders, she got plenty of good moments.
