Here's a question on Beings:

What happens if a person eats all of or part of a Being's animal form? What if it's their Master? I'm curious about the nutritional value, taste, permanence of the flesh after its cut off, etc.

What is a being's chemical make-up? Is it made of energy? Do any earthly materials harm them, like how silver harms werewolves?
Vampires can be exceedingly charming when they need to be. They will joke, cajole and flatter, and just when you think, "vampires aren't so bad," you've got a pair of fangs buried in your neck.

For those who still insist on treating vampirism as a romantic existence, consider the suicide note left behind by Jacob Drexel, member of a prominent Philadelphia family who was transformed in 1937. After Drexel leaped off the City Hall tower one snowy night, a suicide note was found that closed with the following lines: "I have been living in constant torment over the unspeakable acts I have committed, and yet I am powerless to stop committing them. May God forgive me."

OK, I know that at least one rumored being (Washington's rabbit) is an animal we think of as being edible, and sometimes curiosity pops up even for areas we'd never actually consider acting upon, but still... DUDE.

Anyway, when reading the previous comic I couldn't help but think that using a library's article or catalog database and doing a subject search would probably be a lot more productive towards finding out useful info. Also, as questions seem to be the norm here I might as well ask one as well. What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen Being :P (I'd ask what the land-speed velocity of an unladen Sparrow is, but 1) she isn't a Being, and 2) I somehow doubt that Sparrow would be willing to get into a state of being completely unladen just for the purposes of testing that one.)

As with the other questions, the answer is now on the Being Q&A. As Sparrow cannot fly, her velocity would depend on how long she had been falling.

And nobeing's getting used as lunch any time soon, don't worry.

I was hungry when I asked that. Also, I was inspired by Patrick eating a sandwich and commenting on the lack of taste buds. Since there are cultures that eat just about everything under the sun, it makes sense someone's tried out Being at some point.

Here are some more questions:

We know there are ~100 Beings. If one dies, does a new one come into existence to take the place of the dead one?

Beings don't taste very good, but we know Beings have no sense of taste. So what happens when one Being eats another? Do they gain powers? Get a stomach ache?

Will we get to meet Patrick's former master?

Well so much for Patrick living a quiet life. Although this makes me wonder, how common is the knowledge that Beings can't harm humans? If it's one of those common knowledge things, then the guy must be trying to present himself as a threat as well, because if he isn't I doubt there's much stopping this place's security from throwing him out. Possibly even shooting him if they have a gun or two, though I imagine the bunny would at least try to take the bullets for him. If it isn't common knowledge, then there is gonna be a whole lot of panic here very shortly.

Actually that might be a good question for the Q&A. Do most people think Beings can harm humans?

Dude! Breaking into a bar and bellowing for a brawl is bad enough, but bonking your bunny Being's brains for boppin' to the beat? That's just mean.

So in the Hitchhiker's Guide to Earth, it would list Beings as "Mostly harmless," then? :D

Okay new question for Being Q&A. You've already mentioned beings are killable. What kind of Nazi insanity did it take to find out you could actually finish a being for good?

What is the purpose of the game? Where was it first played? Why the emphasis on intensely public battles using such powerful creatures?

Actually, werewolves CAN be killed with non-silver weapons. It just takes considerably more effort.

Somebody's obviously never seen The Monster Squad. There's only one way to kill a werewolf.

Also, wrong thread.

Actually I have, though it's been a while.

Anyway, on to a more BIACP related subject, I just noticed this, but is it just me or does anybody else think that there would something intrinsically awkward about talking to a priest while wearing a Flying Spaghetti Monster t-shirt? Not that I'd wear one anyway mind you, but still...

If you'd spent half your life in Catholic school, you'd think it was an awesome move.

Having been going through Erin's dA account and reading the new strips, I have come to the conclusions that:
1. Reseda is Timothy's Being, and
2. Lily is Reseda.
The second one just kind of hit me when I looked more closely at Lily's design and noticed she's not actually on the characters page.

Just realized a question.

What efforts have scientists with morals made in studying beings and their abilities?

This sequence is giving me a vibe of Eureka 7 mixed with Warren Jeffs.
