Oh gees. That puts a whole different spin on Seras' "but I don't want to be a monster" attitude with being a vampire. I'm surprised she was a functional human being with that baggage.
And death has made Pip a much more eloquent speaker.
And congrats on the diploma!

Some strips I'm very glad to see. Thought you weren't going to do the fork thing for some reason, very moving interpretation.SailorPtah wrote:That would be because it isn't fixed.BigKwell wrote:I've contacted the thread about the update snafu. They say it's been corrected, but I still get Wednesday's strip.
*is mildly peeved at ComicGen right now*
In the meantime, you can see the backlogged strips here.

Ohhh yes. She wouldn't have been functional at all if she hadn't stuffed nine-year-old Seras back in that closet and repressed the memories until she was strong enough (and supported enough) to deal with them.KLCtheBookWorm wrote:Oh gees. By the way, everyone: while you're waiting for ComicGen to sort itself out, go take a look at The Eagle of Hermes. It takes place in the Shineverse, eight years after the Battle of London; the main characters are Jon Stewart and reluctant vampire "Stephen Colbert", and a couple of familiar faces are going to get involved very soon. Plus, it's on deviantART, so updates are still appearing on schedule! (What a concept, eh?)

While I wait for eather a Shine update or an EoH one, I would like to point out that page nine of EoH doesn't link to page ten.
Also, how in Integra's name does one stop dA's ads from refreshing every 30 seconds?!? The auto-shrunk images were well enough, but the constant clicking noise and bandwidth hogging means I dare not have dA and an online video going at the same time. ...and being the tab user that I am, I'm scaired to think what would happen if I had 20 or so dA pages up at the same time. *Shudder*

Okay, looks like the updating snafu is past. Good strips, though. I'm giddy about what results from Pip's intervention.

Awww. She
s wearing the coat Alucard gave her. And Li'l Seras is finally getting the love and human connection she deserves. But wow. The amount of psychoanalysis you have done on these characters, Erin...it's like this is your way of making a fangirl speech. Kudos.

Seconded. One of the reasons I read is the character development that the television series and the OVA just skimmed over. (I can't compare the manga because all I have read is the last three.)Brynnie-chan wrote:Awww. She

I swear Shine is making me ship these two harder than the manga ever did.

Re: An Eye for An Eye
I'm fond of the contrasting character development: inwardly she's realized her humanity and made peace with herself, while outwardly she's become the "No Life Queen," a true vampire and monster. That balance is what makes her so powerful.
Also interesting to note the mixes of humanity and monstrosity in Hellsing characters:
1. Integra - The human with full command of human dignity
2. Seras - The monster with full command of human dignity
3. Alucard - The monster who gave into temptation and seeks redemption
4. Major - The human who didn't give into temptation but is still monstrous
5. Captain - The monster with shades of humanity (compassion, loyalty)
6. Enrico - The human who gave into temptation and became monstrous
7. Pip - The everyman with shades of gray
8. The various unrepentant monsters (Zorin, Dandy, Luke, Jan, etc.)

Re: An Eye for An Eye
I see I must take back a few of the snarky comments I made about battles being done through Go Fish, if only for the sake of these comics.

"I refuse to have a battle of wits against an unarmed opponent."
"Ah, but I am a master of unarmed combat!"

I was cheering when this happened in the manga.
