I think this is the start of a new storyline, so here's the new thread. I'm eager to see how Erin will vary the carrier scene from the original. (I'm actually hoping Rippy makes no appearance this time - one of the very few where I wish her absent from a Shine arc.)

Of course, it could be something completely different since the chapter dropdown hasn't been updated for a bit.

Events from the manga are being re-ordered and/or thrown out with wild abandon. The South America sequence, for instance, is being ditched. And the H.M.S. Eagle storyline has a major change, which you may already be able to guess...

When I read "...reading a book" I immediately thought, "If it's Twilight, much lulz will ensue," due to the sparkling vampires.

I think Erin is using a variant of an idea we worked out a while back on how to revise the HMS Eagle segment, so I may get my initial wish after all. I have several guesses as to who it is that's on the carrier, but I have an unfair advantage so I won't spill any info.

While I doubt this is the only way, it's the best way I know of:

1) Go to the Wild Mass Guessing index.
2) Click the "Edit Page" button on the top.
3) In the proper location, type:
