I doubt he bothers learning slang anymore. When you've lived for 500+ years, acquainting yourself with the new phrases of the day would probably grow thin after a couple decades. He probably studies enough so as not to use out-of-date words (otherwise he'd sound like Beowulf), but that's it.

That's actually a good point. I just assumed he would at least know phrases like that and be familiar with their meaning, not necessarily to use.

EDIT: On the subject of the OVA, I like the feeling of power from Luke and Dandy. Luke, for instance is much more powerfull and deadly than he has in the TV series.
He also shouldn't be hovering because honestly, helicopters don't have that much fuel. I imagine that it's full to bursting to fly as far as it is, and I can accept that one could get that much fuel in (whether it could still take off is another issue). But I have a feeling they don't have much airtime to spare.
Of course, the copter could be entirely vampire-powered at this point.
