Free Netflix, anyone?

I have a Netflix subscription, and they're offering members the chance to send friends free trials.

I'm on one of the cheapest plans: one DVD at a time, but with no monthly limit. It's extremely easy to use - they take care of all the details for you, and the packaging is really economic and clever. Once they get the last movie you returned, the next one shows up in about a day.

I've used it for research purposes (during the Halloween storyline I got the Scooby-Doo movie); I've started seeing movies I wanted to see in the theater but didn't have time to (Thank You For Smoking just went back); I've added movies that are cultural staples that somehow I missed out on (Ghostbusters is in the queue, as are a handful of Bond flicks).

My point is, I love it, and I'm not even being paid to say so. If you have a list of movies you've been meaning to rent (Bram Stoker's Dracula, anyone?), post your email addresses here. I'll have Netflix send the 2-week free trial to the first five.

Did I mention they have TV series too? (The complete Book of Daniel, which was cancelled after three episodes, is in my queue.) And anime? (Chrono Crusade's there too.) And, like, all of Monty Python? (Positions 63 to 79 in the queue.)

Seriously, you should totally try this thing.

In a word: no

I gave out CafePress.com coupons via email a while back for the same reason: the company is trying to get new people hooked on them, and hoping its current customers will do the marketing for them. I, meanwhile, want to build goodwill with my fans, and what better way to do that than giving them free stuff? It's a win-win-win situation.

I haven't watched a thing recently, I'm afraid - except a whole lot of Desperate Housewives, because my mom and I watch it together, and we both just finished our terms ^_~

I did switch my Netflix address to home, so I'll be able to watch movies during the break, and hopefully get through a good chunk of my queue.

I use Netflix 3 at a time normally to cover my weekened evenings. Right now I'm doing 8 at a time to cach up on some anime and other series. Just finished the Wagner 4 disc mini-series with Richard Burton. I highly recommend it (though it does get a bit racy at moments since it's a European series).

This sounds like a great deal. The only reason i havent signed up myself is that a friend of mine works at video place and can rent 3 at a time for free. He, however, is getting a new job.

Yes, it's still possible; unfortunately, it only works in the US ^_^;
