I have no clue what any of that means, but you mention someone named "Crowley"... isn't there an Ozzy song called "Mr. Crowley"? Are we talking about the same Crowley?
So, I was sitting with my friends having some coffee and reading some webcomics today, and one of my friends leans over and asks(with a little titter) who that hot girl on the screen is. I say, "That is the all-powerful vampire Alucard. He will kill anyone for twenty dollars, maybe a dollar less." The derisive reaction I was greeted with("God, Tweak, you're so weird!" in so many words, many not as nice as the language I used.) was nothing compared to the incredulity I saw when I clicked over to today's Penny Arcade, which featured Div, the alcoholic DivX machine.
I love webcomics.

I think both Crowley and Zari would give the Vatican fits, and Andersong would turn to drinking cheep wine.

We're talking about
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Crowley. (I totally wrote about half of that page, by the way

)

I am
not planning to have Crowly and Aziraphale meet anyone from the Vatican any time soon, because it would screw with their belief system like nobody's business, and probably wreck the entire rest of the plot.
I
am planning to involve Yomiko, because she and Aziraphale could have bookgasms together =P

You mean it might drive Maxwell mad? Oops too late. It might make Andersong unstable (maybe even homicidal). Ooops too late. Possible Yomiko could handle it except for that slight personality dissorder. Hey come to think of it, is there ANYONE in section VIII who is in their right mind or at least legaly competent? Say what you will about mad dogs and englishmen but what is Iscariot's excuses?

that link didn't work for me, but this one did:

I have never read this book, but I see that now I'm going to have to. Any author who discusses the hell of London's M25 is spot on. I've driven that b*#ch before and was not amused.
"The curb is your friend, the curb is your friend, the curb is your friend...hey Ian love? Tell me again why we decided to drive to London from Heidelberg?"[/url]

Wikipedia says Anthony Crowley in Good Omens is not our darling (not) little Aleister, high ceremonial mage and Beast.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleister_Crowley
Long dead and gone, he has become a character unto himself...and I am sure he would be interesting to see near Alucard. Alucard would already be in England and thier meeting possible-- along with Yeats and Waite who were also members of the Golden Dawn...then there are also those funny associations with Gerald Gardner and Charles Leland, more world-travelling English occultists etc.
Makes me wonder where Hellsing was...sitting on thier tushes while magicians ran around amuk calling on the Scarlet Woman to usher in the Apocolypse? huumm.....someone wasn't doing thier job....

Erin, I adore you. Alucard always looks so good in white. It really sets off his skin. We should see him in white more often.

Don't thank me; it was Hirano's costuming idea
Would you like more Girlycard in white, or the actual Alucard?

I think Girlycard looks better in white than regular Alucard would. Can't come up with a real reason, it's just how it is. Pity the hat's missing.
If I could draw better than a monkey with cerebal palsy, I'd do a gag strip where Girlycard has more hats than Jackie Kennedy.

Or more shoes than Imelda Marcos.

I don't know about looking better in white, just different. It's a nice change. I am quite fond of red, and it hides blood pretty well.
On the other hand....
The best part about white is that it shows blood spatter SO much better than red. Yes, yes....Alucard and Alex's next big tango should happen when they are both wearing white.....hum.....Girlycard VS Alb, Chausable and stole.... ???
Erin, Yep...H is the man but I just like seeing Alucard here at Shine get to play dress up so often. Waiting for Hirano is like waiting for real maple syrup to flow from a new sapling. It's just going to take 15 years.

I vote for more Girlycard since you've writen the past Girlycard out of Integra's experiences, and here she's also so young not to have had those experiences yet anyway.... Girlycard is the perfect non-threatening (sort of) companion to her dreamscape.
Sure will make waking up interesting. "Gahh...Alucard, I never want to see you in a dress."
"Damn" he says to himself.
or even worse: "Alucard, we're playing doll dress up today. Guess who's the doll..."
"Damn" he says to himself.
or even worse: "Alucard, we're playing dolls today. Guess who's the doll..."
"Yes Master!!" he giggles to himself.
Ah...the joys of being 12 and still young enough to get away with playtime.
Next time...a good game of fetch....those shiny checkerd floors would make a dog slip going after a rubber ball....snicker snicker....
Or..."Alucard, were playing teaparty. Guess who's the doll..."
"I'm not wearing a bib while in my dog form again."
"Shut up and do it."
"Yes Master...." sigh..groan...murderous intent.
So yeah...More Girlycard. Bring her on!!

I have since deduced as much from that wikipedia article.
I'm kindof partial to Girlycard in the normal clothes. Alucard looked snazzy as hell in that white suit.

O.k. I am going to have to totally ream myself on this one. I normally work with secondary education (I'm used to 14 year olds looking too mature), so last night when I went to an elementary school Xmas program and saw what some of thier 11 & 12 year olds looked like.... never mind on "being young enough to get away with playtime".
Half of them looked like adults. Some of the girls were more developed than I am. What happened to youth? Is it all the hormones in the meat or something? Those girls wouldn't pick up a doll to save thier lives and if they did, they would keep it "MIB" as a monetary investment.
Damn I'm feeling old fashioned all of a sudden.
Poor Integra...growing up way, way, way too soon. I secretly hope that somewhere, deep down in that mature, logical mind of hers, she keeps a little bit of her younger child self in there....and I hope someday that inner child struggles to the surface and breaks free before she crashes and burns.
I always think of her as a re-incarnation of the Virgin Queen-- struggling to keep England strong, pushing away every hope of a king/consort for herself. Must be lonely at the top.
Sorry for the musings. I'm avoiding work. I have a bad case of vacationitis.

Oh, I know. It's tough, as a writer and an Integra fan, because I want her to keep that strength and that maturity but I also want to believe she has that inner child. And it's hard to bring the inner child out without undermining that strength.
Of course, while this is a Hellsing fancomic, you know that it's more idealistic than Hellsing itself . . . Sailor Moon canon is folded in on some level, and love will win out in the end ^_^
I like the Virgin Queen comparison. She's the Virgin Knight. I hope I can keep her that cool throughout.
(It was especially interesting in this storyline, where - starting today - you literally see her inner child struggling to hold up that adult standard.)

I can so see Cate Blanchet doing Integra. She was a perfect Queen Elizabeth in "Elizabeth" (1998), and the last scenes where she states that she is married to England.....she's got Integra's voice and resolve...that certain tone that Integra gets that sends shivers down one's spine.
And I guess that is why I can never seriously IXA. The thought flitters through my mind on occasion, but never for very long. I've read your page on IXA, and liked many of it's points both on logic and emotional appeal, but at the same time, she still reminds me too much of Elizabeth I.
It's the way she sits in her chair, the way she gives her commands, the way she deals with those around her. The parallels are many-- the round table/Nobles, Walsingham/Alucard, Cecil/Walter, Section XIII/Spain/Spanish Embassidors, Hellsing/England...heck England/England. hummm...who would be her Robert Dudley? Maxwell?

I must stand by my guess at Cecil. He was her first and foremost servant when it comes to letters, documents and execution of acts by being her minister of state-- thus doing many of the smaller tasks that Walter performs within Hellsing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Cecil
Dee on the otherhand was more prophet and guru, of which Integra seems to have none yet. Dee's main function was as advisor, carrying out very little in the way of orders etc.. I just can't see Dee serving tea! (and while there are those angelic associations: Angel of Death VS Angel translator, I suspect Walter would not be one to listen to little voices in his head, scribble them out and give them in Interga as if they were the latest hot sh*t off the presses. He's just too demure and humble for that kind of pompusness.)
Interesting suggestion though.

I've noticed that, too. Children grow up a lot faster. Kids in my cousin's grade (he's ten) come to school in mini skirts, mascara and hoop earrings. Frightening.
Although not everyone follows stereotypes, thankfully. I'm twenty-one, and I still play with dolls. Judging by the fact that I hang on a doll forum with a 13+ minimum age, and there's nearly 12,000 members, I'm hardly the only one.
