Of Christmas decorations and Tu Tu's...
I'm with Integra...it's still to early for decorations.
I was driving down the road last night to pick up my pizza and there were lights out already! AKKK! I haven't even gotten rid of my Halloween pumpkins yet!

Meh, never to early to spread the Christmas spirit.
Actually, I guess it kinda is. By the time Christmas has come and gone, I get so sick of decorations and carols that I want to go to the mall and feed Santa his hat.
I love the Chirstmas stories that start popping up in all the webcomics I read, no matter how non-canonical they are. Specifically, I liked Shine's parody of the Grinch, and Penny Arcade's The Last Christmas. I really need to read some Lovecraft so I can figure out the whole C'thulu thing, but DAMN... he is one cool alien deity, or whatever.

In Hellboy, the scene where he is looking over his kingcom of Hell and these big ugly tentacle monsters are floating in the sky getting woke up...those are like Cthulu....very old, very hungry elder gods who know no time or space, care nothing and will be happy to eat Jehova, Jesus, Buddha...anything. ::::::shivers::::: I shouldn't even be talking about it. It gives me the willies.Tweak wrote: I really need to read some Lovecraft so I can figure out the whole C'thulu thing, but DAMN... he is one cool alien deity, or whatever.
Also, you don't have to read Lovecraft to get an idea...there were a bunch of really cheezy movies made back in the 1980's and 1990's that are still fun to watch:

My favorite is "To Cast a Deadly Spell"...Detective Henry Lovecraft is just goofy. It's Lovecraft light and about as close as I will get to the subject. The last scenes where the big giant tentacle moster takes over the house and yard ....eeeewww.... where's a nuke when you need one?
I read a Wikipedia article on C'thulu... so I get the basic gist of it. I think I was pretty much spot on with the alien deity claim. The reason I even referenced him is because he is the main topic of Penny Arcade's seasonal comic The Last Christmas:

Good stuff, good stuff. I guess I just like things that rhyme.
Incidentally, when I read about C'thulu last night, I had a nightmare about him that prompted me to bolt up in a cold sweat. A literary monster with that much psychological power is DEFINETLY something worth reading about. I'm going to go locate and read The Call of C'thulu right now.
Oh, and so... like the Christmas story arc started today.

If you like Cthulu Christmases...then you have to get the Carols on CD.
http://www.cthulhulives.org/Solstice/
My good friend Chuck (who dressed up as Hellitubbie one year at Dragoncon) has it and plays it every year. He is forbidden to play it at my house, or I will impale him in my front yard and decorate him with little twinkling lights.
Merry ho ho ho.
So anyway....Christmas bonuses are good. Wonder what Alucard would do with a check? I mean...come on....when youre an immortal fiend, what good is a few extra bucks? What's he going to spend it on? Shoe polish?
Eww...that was a nasty thought. If he can morph/transfigure his clothes...wouldn't that be like licking shoe polish every time you shine them? I bet Kiwi tastes nasty. Oh the dumb things I think about.
Like...if you could morph into a dog...would you....oh never mind.
So I am anxious to see what the Hellsing folks do with thier checks....I agree....suspense!

As far as how Alucard would spend his check... assuming he gets paid, as the word slave is peppered liberally throughout the manga and anime, I'd venture to guess he would use it to buy gifts for Integra and Walter. And that stupid police girl, why not.
But not for Pip. I get the feeling Alucard doesn't like Pip all that much.

Lovely..
The coloring is looking particularly nice lately...and I can't wait for this year's Christmas special.
I have but one caveat: Integra's hair is looking a little unrealistic. It would look better with some more body. Perhaps she needs a new hair dresser?

Pip--
That's odd. I get the feeling that Alucard appreciates Pip's mischievous streak and respects his abilities as a soldier, and if he isn't completely ENAMORED of the fellow, at least he tolerates him well.
The Pip/Seras relationship seems to be a lower level parallel of the Alucard/Integra one, so maybe Alucard senses a (much less serious/important) kindred spirit in Pip.
Of course he will always prefer Walter.

Christmas presents and paychecks.
This might just be me, but I very much doubt Alucard would want to do something so sentimental as to buy into humanity's holiday commercialism and actually purchase gifts for individuals not quite defined as friends.
Or anyone, for that matter. When was the last time you saw a vampire at the mall?

Re: Lovely..
Glad you like the coloring! The Christmas storyline is going to be doing a lot of weird things, including playing with color; I hope they'll come off well.vkitty9 wrote:The coloring is looking particularly nice lately...and I can't wait for this year's Christmas special.

Real hair is not nearly as fluffy as anime hair. I know I draw the comic in anime style, but you could pretend it's realism =P

Just because one is a slave doesn't mean one doesn't get treats. Treats encourage loyalty to ones master...unless of course you are Rienfield where treats encourage insanity (I need lives! Lives for the Master!)
And you know...after I got to thinking about it, just because he's in London now doesnt mean his assets all disappeared. And who knows, maybe Hellsing has appropriated them. That fancy-smanchy compound they all live in took money to build, takes money to run it. (unless the British government is sneaking funds to them... 'twod would explain a lot about Round Table politics).
Oh that would be sick wouldn't it? Hellsing running off Alucard's centuries of hard work....unless of course, there is a deeper reason he tolerates Hellsing and being a "slave".....to my knowledge, he hasn't tried to break freen once has he?

Why did you think that? He never offend or mock him not even once. (And he mocks every single people that is his enemy) He never questioned his ability and he even show him his coffin. Maybe they could never be the "best friends 4eva" but he seems to like him more than to dislike him.Tweak wrote: But not for Pip. I get the feeling Alucard doesn't like Pip all that much.

Taking bets
O.k. folks...Integra just snapped her cigar.
I bet it only lasts a few days at most. She's got will power, but her smoking is canon.
Anyone else for the betting pool?

Man...
Poor Integra. Having to do that at the age of fourteen is horrible, but when you get down to it, it really did have to be done by her. Trying to shelter her from the reality of the kind of work she was in would have simply led to the creation of a bad leader, and resulted in even more deaths. That still doesn't mean I can't want to give her a hug though.
And I swear, if Alucard is thinking of some way to tease her up there I'm gonna... gonna...
Well, I can't really do anything to him as he'd kick my butt in about a second. Providing of course he didn't decide to play with his food first.
Uh, but I can still think some rather unpleasant thoughts at him! Oh wait, he has telepathy...
Meow it

Actually he doesn't... at least in the manga and for consequence in the ova, since shine just passed Crisis on infinite Hellsings lands and now its located into the OVA continuity, Alucard now doesn't have telepathy =)Chaos Priest wrote:
