ideas for the future

Post by Treeofthedead »

i have a couple: One has already been hinted at in one of the Shine or Die sunday strips. I'd love to see a Witch Hunter Robin crossover at some point. I just recently watched the whole series and really enjoyed it so i'd love to see what could be done with it in the strip. :D

Two: i know you are waiting to bring in the manga cast until it's finished but when you do I'd love to see a fangirl/boy section with the Nazis... but that's just because i'm waiting to be a Rip Van Winkle fan girl.

I would suggest a Silent Mobius crossover, but Rally (and maybe Mana) are the only members of the main Silent Mobius cast that are alive in '97 (well, not counting Ganossa and Rosa) and Rally is about 6 that year. At best you'd have the little silver-haired schoolgirl who happens to be able to blast objects to pieces, teleport, and do some other 'magic tricks.' Or maybe bring in Gigelf and the rest of the Magicians' Guild who are active at this time.

I think Walter deserves his own storyline. Like...a trip to buy tea takes him through a wormhole to Babylon 5. There he finds that the last Hellsing married into the Bester family and had a son.

I have yet to get the last two WHR DVDs, and I don't want to do a crossover with it until I know how it ends ^_^;

But I do have an idea simmering.

I know there will be Millennium fanboys/girls when the characters arrive, but I'm afraid it's so far in the future that I haven't thought any more about it.

I saw the first 75% of Silent Moebius on Tech TV a while ago, and was thinking then that it would make a good parody if nothing else (young woman with grossly oversized weapon and green-suited, pale-haired, tough-as-nails boss). It's been way too long, though - and there's timelines to sort out, and - it would get very complicated.

It's one of those things I would like to try, but don't have the time or money to do the necessary research >_>

And I'm afraid Babylon 5 is just completely off my radar scale ^_^;

I'm actually not sure which storyline I'll do after the Catholicon one...I have a few ideas, but they require varying amounts of research and effort, and I don't want to overrun the Christmas storyline (of course, I haven't a clue how long that's going to run, either).

Maybe I should set up a poll...

Perhaps we could have Walter receive a letter from a certain someone in Hong Kong?

Or maybe a storyline with Girlycard for laughs. If I was crazy, I'd suggest a parody of 50s sitcoms with Integra as the father, Girlycard as the mother, and Seras as the daughter. Pip is of course her nearly worthless classmate and suitor and Walter is...some older guy who's around.

Well, this is a strange little idea, but here goes.

The entire Hellsing orginization has moved out, heading to Africa on a tip that the people behind the fake vampires may be there. Everyone except Walter, and Pip, who is out with a broken arm due to unrelated injury, has left.

After a few weeks of general boredom, Pip decided to take action. He's going to hit the clubs and pick up some chicks! However, Pip sees a frustrated Walter stalking the hallways looking for something to clean. Feeling a combination of pity and malicious intent, Pip decided to invite Walter along. After some convincing, Walter accepts.

The first thing that Pip does is attempt to teach Walter his secrets. I have a few ideas of what this means, such as plastering his dress uniform with fake medals, replacing the Helling patch with that of a brave sounding army unit (Pip: "The Rogues? The Lions? So many choices...) and coming up with approprate stories to explain his war wounds. (For example, Walter asks "How did you lose that eye?" and Pip says "Depends who's asking. If your a hot woman I'm in the process of wooing, I lost it resisting torture in a enemy camp, but I still didn't say a word. If your asking, it was an unfortunate mishap involving a hand grenade and far too much vodka.") After all this explination, Walter still opts to go to the club dressed as he always is. Pip writes him off and the two hit the club, and vanish into the crowd. (Possible joke: Panel one and two are pictures of the crowd. Panel three is Pip sticking his head out for air.) After several hours and some humourous failures, Pip, still frustratingly single, hit the bar and is surprised to see Walter leaving in the company of not one, but two women. Picture three panels of an awestruck Pip.

Next day, Pip confronts Walter, begging him to reveal his secrets. There is two ways you can take this; have Walter tell him with minimal prodding, and end the storyline, or make it a two part story and have Pip begin dressing and acting like Walter in an attempt to "unlock the secrets of the Bulter!" (complete with hilarious dental floss-related mishaps.) Picture this behaviour countinuing after the rest of Hellsing arrive back from Africa... well anyway, Walter's secret is always the same. (Walter: "I merely explain to the girls that I am the personal bulter of a very attractive 23 year old woman, and I serve her every need, all of which is true." Next comic is too frames of Pip stuck dumb before finally blurting out "That's genius!" and Walter replies "indeed")

I'd draw it myself, but my own webcomics take up far too much of my time already. What do you think?

Wow.

You don't even need the "send the rest of the organization to Africa" excuse; just give Walter a day off and Pip the idea to get him to have a good time. The funny will follow.

I've already promised someone sexy Alucard appearances in whatever I do next, but you have great ideas for this storyline. If it's just a lack of time that's keeping you from putting them into action, we could always collaborate. What do you think?

That IS a good idea. We know Walter knew of the Wild Geese before, which implies he may have known Pip or Pip's father. So having them interact like that would be pretty neat.

Like, me writing and you drawing or something like that? I could definitely find the time to write the comics if that's what your thinking.

Another scene that crossed my mind with your setup: Pip attempting to be Seras's "Walter:" preparing her coffin, arranging her clothes, and, of course, drawing her bath...

Seras: Get out!

Pip: But I'm your butler! I have to stay by you in case you need something!

Seras: I *need* privacy! Out!

Yep, that's the idea, more or less. How much "more" and how much "less" depend on how our strengths fit together.

For example, on the collaboration with Xu (who is turning out scenes already), we worked out the plot in a series of back-and-forth emails and talked through the details. He did a lot of the research and wrote a few specific scenes, and the bedrock ideas of the story were all his; on the other hand, the day-to-day dialog and panel layouts were mostly mine.

So you could write out full scripts, or you could give me just dialog and leave the panel layouts up to me, or you could give me an outline of events and some punch lines. And you can always add things in as we go.

Email me (sailorptah@yahoo.com) if/when you feel like getting started ^_^

Hmm...back on the 50s thing. It just occurred to me that it might work better with Walter as the husband, Alucard as the wife, and Integra and Seras as their daughters. If I thought I could draw at all, I'd probably send it in as a guest strip. Of course, lack of talent has never stopped anyone from posting things online (remark not referring to present company, of course).

Umm.... my ideas usually aren't that good, but I did have one pop in my head today during work if you care to read it, Erin.

This has to do with a storyline that would take place if you decide to do another fan girl/boy story (which I really hope for so I can participate). My idea is that after sending the fan girls back through the portal rather than closing it the people at Hellsing decide to teach the fan girls a lesson instead. Integra orders Pip to gather up the Wild Geese and gather next to the fan girl portal. Once everyone is gathered Integra briefs them on the mission, scare the fan girls into agreeing to leave them alone. Once Integra and the others enter the portal however, they find themselves changing into fan girl/boy forms. As such forms are ill suited to scaring people; they change tactics from intimidation to annoyance.

Thus begins the fan abuse.

I propose a storyline where the members of Hellsing latch on while in chibi form to fans in normal form and begin to rant in an annoying, and occasionally insulting, fashion about whatever random things they notice about the fan. Using me as a sacrificial lamb/example, here is a sample rant:

Random Hellsing Member: I love this fan boy because his hair is cool and long and shiny and he's very secure in his masculinity otherwise he'd never wear a dress in public like that and...
Me: *blushing slightly* I-It's not a dress! It's a robe. It was a present. My mom made this for me.
RHM: It's a gift from your mother?
Me: Yeah, that's right.
RHM: *continuing rant* and he's also a bit of a momma's boy but that just means he's sweet and caring and must love his mother very much to let her dress him like that and...
Me: *almost completely red at this point* Eep....
Other fan: Man, you walked right into that one.
(Alright, I admit it. I suck at writing conversations)

They would also use their temporary fan girl power to get the fans to do things the normally would not do, such as the ever popular forced kissing. Again using myself as an example, while I probably wouldn't react quite as strongly as Anderson did to kissing Alucard if I was forced to kiss another guy there would be a frantic search for mouthwash. If on the other hand I were made to kiss a girl there would be much blushing and stammering on my part.

Eventually even we fans would probably be looking for a way to get rid of Chibi Hellsing. As for learning our lesson however it would probably only make us try to top them in the next visit. Fans tend to be a stubborn and playful bunch, not very likely to let something like that stop them. Of course anyone participating in a story like that would have to not mind being embarrassed, but I imagine there would still be quite a few volunteers to be pestered by Hellsing. I realize that's quite a lot to read through, so thank you for taking the time to humor this humble fan.

It would also be hard to orchestrate, much too complicated to research, and risk getting self-serving and gimmicky.

It would be the ultimate revenge if I could pull it off; but I'm afraid this is a storyline better imagined than realized ^_^

here is an idea. Bloopers. Telling the story as if the characters are following a script and mess up in some comical and hilarious way.

I might regret making this suggestion: How about an appearance of the Harkonnen Gun's 'spirit?' Heheh.

He's showed up once so far =)

I ought to use him more. The comedy possibilities are endless...
