I wonder why Alucard can't control them. As Dracula he could assert control over animals. Animal spirits should at least back off.

I wonder if we'll be seeing a pudgy lil' Alucard when this is done. Then he and the Major will be twins!

Alucard can only control the lower creatures: rats, foxes, wolves, etc. Although it's pretty well established that vampires can control the minds of even strong-willed humans, these are spirits. I doubt any amount of Alucard's influce could control them.

And why control what you can eat...

Next comic's going to be delayed, looks like. The CG server is still recovering from the crash earlier. 3500+ updates are stuck in the queue.

I was wondering why the CG server was not working. So that explains it.

Comics are updating, but sloooow. It went from 3700 to 2200 over the course of many hours. So eventually ASHN will update.

Is Slavic mythology part of Romanian mythos (I think it is, but I am just making sure)? Since Alucard was Vlad hundreds of years ago, you would think he would know some bits.

He probably doesn't realise whats going on because of the magic involved. Integra doesn't seem to have noticed the epic battle that was raging a minute ago not ten feet away. Many ancient spells render the spirit world unable to see the human world.

If you've seen Spirited Away, think about the part where the girls has to cross the bridge with out making a sound (or breathing, I forget). As long as she's completely silent, the spirits can't see her. Integra probably has to pretend that she can't see what's going on out side, or the spell will be broken. Alucard probably can't tell she's using a spell because that's part of the magic of the spell. So it would be a complete surprise to him when he can't walk right up to her, even though it is perfectly obvious to any human being.

Maybe a parasite spirit. Because some parasites in nature wait to get eaten so they can infest their host from the inside.

Vlad was not actually a Slav, so no, he would not necessarily be familiar with it from his life
