Re: Boys photographing girls.
I watched the Back to the Future trilogy with my flatmate the other day for the first time in years.
It made me realize that the 80's were a really long time ago.
I turn 26 today and all I can think of is I want to get drunk and stay young.

Um, happy birthday?
Haven't seen those movies in years but I imagine they'd make me feel very old as well. Sublet watches em about once every two weeks, which is probably why he acts like an oldtimer.

Happy Birthday! I keep meaning to watch that trilogy all the way through in one sitting.Mo wrote:I watched the Back to the Future trilogy with my flatmate the other day for the first time in years.

I'm guessing you've done this with Star Wars and Lord of The Rings.

Re: Boys photographing girls.
Yes... Yes it does.
I've actually seen quite a lot of movies during the last month. More than in the previous two years put together, probably. I watched Thelma & Louise the other day for the first time in my life and thought it was pretty good, although for some reason I expected it to have more, uh, lesbian content.
I also saw the latest Indiana Jones, and I can't get over how old Harrison Ford has gotten. The guy turns 67 this year. Geez. Sean Connery will be 80 in 2010.
Lately I'm obsessing about age. You can tell eh?

I made the mistake of watching the first three Indy films before seeing the fourth, and it only made Ford's age that much more noticeable. Can't believe they waited this long for another movie (and it didn't help that the movie was pretty weak).Mo wrote:I also saw the latest Indiana Jones, and I can't get over how old Harrison Ford has gotten. I liked it, actually, and for a dude pushing 70, Harrison Ford is quite the badass. Hell, I'm sure he could beat the shit out of me and I'm in the prime of my life, or something.
I saw Slumdog Millionaire last night. Very good. The hype is a bit much but most of it is earned. Excellent photography and awesome soundtrack (includes some MIA).

I saw Sunshine last week. I wasn't incredibly impressed by the movie as a whole, but it did manage to send me into an existential crisis from which I'm still recovering. Not entirely sure why.
Re: Boys photographing girls.
I saw "Amelie" for the first time last weekend, and it was quite pleasant. Might have been my first French movie too! The lead actress was ridiculously endearing.

Oh, I didn't say Indiana Jones IV was BAD... nowhere as good as Last Crusade, mind you... for his age, Harrison Ford sure kicked ass; but I just can't drool over him like I used to in the first three movies.
Amélie is a sweet movie. My niece is named after her.

Colin was saying it was weak, and I'm not gonna take that from the likes of him.
But yeah, age, existential crises, I get it.
Amelie is pretty fantastic. Haven't seen it in years, but I'm definitely an Audrey Tatou fan. French movies are typically pretty rockin.

Mos def gonna have to check that soon. Obviously I've been interested in wordless drama lately, and this is up my alley.
Seen a lot of flicks lately, maybe I'll talk about them, maybe I won't.

Re: Boys photographing girls.
Just caught Wristcutters: A Love Story. Involves a trio of self-inflicted dead people hanging out in purgatory, searching for things they're pretty sure they're not gonna find. Came about this close to greatness, but I can deal with really-goodness, particularly when it involves finding a balance between the surreal and the apathetic. Recommended.
