Super Massive Snowstorm

The place where no good punk-asses and aimless hipsters come to discuss a rather lousy comic.

Super Massive Snowstorm

Post by TheSuburbanLetdown »

Lake County seems like a rich little county. Then why the hell weren't any of the roads plowed?! A 20 minute drive was 2 hours long. I saw 2 ambulances sliding around, and 5 cars stuck on major roads blocking traffic. This snow storm was predicted a long time ago and has hit many cities before it got to the midwest. Hardly anyone is even here at work right now. I'm parked in the driveway because the plow broke and no one can get in the parking lot. 3 people have already died today from the storm. We're not allowed to go home early to day either to avoid death. We have to keep churning out product. Freakin' Allstate Insurance isn't even open today, but we are.

It was 65 degrees here a few days ago. Now there's like 12 inches of snow everywhere.

Aside from getting to work a half-hour late, I didn't have much of a problem. Seems like the suburbs got hit harder than the city this time. This time....

I heard Chicago got 4 inches, and they had an army of plows and salt trucks running. We got jack shit, as well as 15.2 inches.

Ugh, it was nasty down here too. 10.4 inches, and the city really didn't do anything. My street is still ice and snow.

We've had no snow here yet, but the other night there was so much wind and rain that half of North Providence lost power for several hours. This took out an entire grid of traffic lights, and because Rhode Islanders drive like dicks to begin with, it was raining heavily, and no one knows what you're supposed to do at an intersection when the light goes out, apparently, it was a dangerous night to be on the road.

So is the answer to press the accelerator harder and hope the airbag saves you?

For some reason, I haven't been back to work since the day before that snowstorm hit.

Yeah, my bosses had me stay home last Friday to avoid driving in the storm, and since then they've had me work from home everyday this week. I'm starting to go a little stir-crazy.
