It's burried in the archive somewhere in place of an update many moons ago. Or it was placed in a gallery somewhere.

Kinda hard to find. It's buried in the Doodles section.

Oh, yeah that is awesome. It's amazing how much Karen O steals from her.

Heh thanks.

Man, I wish more people would steal from her.

I do think Karen's got her own thing going on. My world's big enough for both of em.

Yeah, one would never confuse the two. Karen is more of a manic girl while PJ is more of a darker, controlled force. I was just thinking how easily Karen could wear what PJ is wearing in the drawing.

No kidding. She's definitely an underrated artist, if you can say that about her.

It's hard to overstate how great PJ Harvey is. There's always just so much going on in her songs. As you say, she has a dark, controlled intelligence, but at the same time she'll just lose her shit and howl this ugly, desperate wail from the bottom of her soul, like she forgot she was even singing a song. She has a very instinctive feel for what a song should do and how to capture the complexity of life and love. She's just on a whole other level.

Ms. Harvey turned 37 today. Wild.

I thought she'd be older then that, I don't know why.

Well, she's been around, what? sixteen, seventeen years? Started young.

Actually, it feels weird assigning an age on her. It's quite possible I've turned her into something other than human being in my head by worshipping her.

Yeah, she's been on the scene since the early nineties. I want to say '92, but I'm not sure if that is correct.

It may be an influence of her albums. None of her stuff sounds dated it all sounds like it sounds. There aren't any studio tricks that give it away as to the era it was recorded, like the 80s liked lots of reverb on the snare.

She really hasn't aged really. She basically looks the same, at least since I've been aware of her. I'm sure she's looks older in person, but I only see her in videos and publicity photos.

Polly's new record, White Chalk, came out today. It's supposed to be more introspective and rather ghostly. I'll be picking this up today.

I am so out of the loop. *sigh*

This is still cool.

So, I , umm, found a copy just, you know, just sitting on a sidewalk, outside.

It's different. I haven't had time to really soak it up yest, but the impression I get is it's the flipside to Stories..., and yes it is very ghostly.

Flipside of Stories. Good way to put it. Very rural, English countryside. It's been appropriate on these cool autumn nights. Some gorgeous things going on. Not the greatest entry point to the Polly-curious, but it's a fine record.

This is a little to esoteric for a first listen. I'd probably recommend Rid of Me or Dry.

I'd probably recommend Stories. I made a PJ primer a year or so ago, fifteen songs spanning from Rid of Me to Uh Huh Her. Wonder where I put that.

Surprising how often this new stuff is in my head.

PJ Harvey and John Prine have a new record out, A Woman A Man Walks By. Still forming an opinion but there's some vintage Polly going on here.
