Incidently, to contribute to the subject of art, I'm really into public installation art, as a viewer anyway. Something about putting an object into a place that confronts people on their own turf just gets me off. You know, like a giant pineapple on top of a building. My favorite artist right now is
Andy Goldsworthy. I was just watching the documentary about him,
Rivers and Tides. The guy's amazing. He takes sculpture to another level, all by adhering to the simple concept of using natural materials, usually found in the place he's creating and placing his work.
The technician in me gets very aroused by the work of
Chuck Close. I will never forget being able to see his work at the Seattle Art Museum, back when I was a student.
