The place where no good punk-asses and aimless hipsters come to discuss a rather lousy comic.

No, but there was a period where it was just me, duff and han. When everyone else came back, it went faster.

Yeah. I'm shocked by how much I like it. It's got a interesting plot and cool story so far. And best of all, I really like the characters and care about what happens to them. I can overlook the occasional use of pans and stills because of how strong the other material is. I also got used to the "weird" mangaish sight gags every now and then, which is something I found offputting at first.

I started watching it in Japanese since I got all the dvds recently, and the voices for the two main characters sound much younger than the English dub. Ed kinda sounds like Link from "Ocarina of Time."

I'm too used to the English dub of that show to try listening to the original soundtrack. Plus, they do a pretty good job with it. Dang, I really need to catch up and finish that series sometime.

And I'm pround of being a nerd. I've been a nerd since high school since I was in marching/concert band and chamber orchestra and most of the things I like seem to be pretty obscure unfortunately so no one ever knows what I'm talking about so I just become bitter and reclusive and make run on sentences and just ramble on and on about stuff. I'm also quite fond of feet, but not in the fetish sense. I can usually tell who has flat feet by the way they walk. So many people wear shoes with fashion on the mind first instead of getting shoes that actually help remedy overpronation. But I guess it's really not anyone's fault since most shops only stock athletic shoes that look cool. I see so many poor fools in pairs of Nike Frees which are designed for people whose biomechanical deficiencies are pretty minimal. And even then they are meant as a training tool to strengthen the ankles. I was just thinking of feet since my plantar fascia hurts. Oh yeah, Fullmetal Alchemist is pretty neat.

Yeah, the dub is really well done.

I've seen most of the series out of order, so I got the whole thing and I'm watching it in order. There are actually four different songs they use for the openeing sequence, but they only use 2 for the cartoon network run because of some deal they have with the bands or someother such legal thingie. The song by Asian Kung-Fu Generation is the best one, and it's the last one they use when the series apporaches the end. It's the second one that runs on cartoon network where everyone looks pensive and unsure instead of happy.

I think there's still a long way to go for how much I have to watch, so I don't think I've even seen that other opening. We get cable in a few days!

Mmm, cable. They seem to be running it in order, and they're on episode 25 of 51 I think.

The extent of my tv wathcing is basically background noise while doing other things like drawing or eating dinner, and I ocasionally look up. Watching FMA this past weeked was the first time I actally sat and watched something straight through while not doing anything else.

Well, I guess I was doing cunches on my exercise ball at the same time. I feel like just sitting there is wasting time in a sense. But I needed a mental break from comicking so I can bask in someone else's creative product.

Plenty of traffic, and I had dinner. Now I gotta get the comic done before the power goes out from the storm.

Wow, everyone has been busy.

I have a stereo, two pieces of furniture, and an ironing board in my living room. I've wasted enough time, now it's back to the books.

The problem with sensible shoes is that they're so sensible looking.

The new place is actually pretty nice. We got most of the important stuff set up, but we need to purchase a couch, so the main room isn't set up yet. But it's looking pretty good thus far.
