Heh, yeah, I spent way too much time refreshing that thing to see what people were saying.

But on the bright side, the Forum doesn't autodelete after 20 posts. And it's kind of hard to hold any meaningful conversations on a Tagboard.

That damned Tagboard was too convenient anyway. :P

Eh, I rarely like using tagboards, really. If you've got something worthwhile to say... in 20 posts, no one will be ever able to read it again. They're more of an instant-feedback for current comics, which *IS* a valuable asset, but they can quickly get just ugly.

Forums are much better, imo. :p

Looks like Lando's tagboard has also become a casualty. I've heard that myshoutbox.com is an adequate replacement service, but like Net I'd rather have an active forum than an active Tagboard.

well, there *IS* one downside to using a forum, especially one like CG... you tend to lose a lot of your anonymous commentors, since people at times don't want to BOTHER signing up for a forum just to drop a random comment or two.

So it's a balancing act, but I'd still prefer the active forum over a tagboard anyday. :p

I'm using the Tagboard and keeping it until I see a reason to remove it, even if I do get a forum. For the moment, my readership is too low to justify a forum.

I concur... In a way getting a Forum is kind of a rite of passage, because if you don't have good traffic you're probably not going to attract enough people to keep it going.

I'll miss the random "nice comic" commentators, but I guess that's the price you have to pay.
