Hell just froze over

Long story short (I can fill in the gaps tomorrow) tonight was the final in a big international music contest. Usually the music that is there is mainstream.

However this year these guys won: http://www.lordi.org/main.html !

To improve matters Finland (the country where Lordi comes from) have NEVER won, they've competed 40 times was at best 6:th place. (It's been a runnig joke in Sweden that Finnland won't win the contest untill hell freezes over).

I'll clear some fuzzy things up (was late last night when I posted the original message) and I'll also give an explenation on why I thought it was a relevant thread on this forum.

First of, the contests homepage so you can see what kind of contest it is (and beware, the concept is coming to USA, maybe even as soon as this year) http://www.eurovision.tv/english/index.htm You can see some of the entries an so on there.

second, I love this song and I like Finnland so I'm very happy about them winning.

Thirdly, why I thought this could be some what relevant, "Ixnay on the Onstersmay".

Fourthly they did a tribute to Evil Dead in the “blood red sandman” video in the extras section.
